I can't find a code which will program my Cox Cable universal remote to my new Sylvania HDTV. It's frusterating to have to change remotes in order to turn it on/off or change the volume... I tried searching for the code by putting my remote in search mode and changing the "channnel" to see when it would turn off, but it never did. Please, any hints will be apprecieated. Thank you very much.
We bought a Sylvania LC420ss8 HDTV.
Our current universal remotes would not work, I followed the advice on this site and got a Sony
RM- VL600 Sony Untergrated Remote Commander, use page 16 in the manual to teach the new remote off of the remote that came with the TV. It really works. I am happy with the tv and remote.
I couldn't program my Sylvania LCD HDTV LC320SS9 to Time Warner's universal remote BUT IT DID PROGRAM TO AN INEXPENSIVE SONY RM-VL600 that I bought on ebay for $13.00. It's a learning remote and programmed to the TV, DVD, VCR, Surround Sound Amp, AND the Motorola cable box.
I bought a sony integrated remote commander from wal-mart about $27.86 and it works, no programming just aim infrared from the remote to the tv remote and it works...Good luck, I too bought a 32" Sylvania HDTV and had remotes problems. I finally found one that works...good luck to all
ME too!!! I have Directv and I can't program the Sylvania GDtv into my universal remote or the receiver's remote. I have socommed to using 2 remotes for now. :)
There is no code!!! -- Solution...You have to buy a universal remote with learning capabilities. I’ve ordered one that will not only learn off other remotes but can handle 10 components also. I got it from 10x it’s called the iconRemote control…if you call the company they will give you a discount (but you have to call them and ask) AWESOME!
I posted in Dec. about the same problem with my Sylvania LC370SS8. Couldn't find a compatible IR code with cable (COX)
remote. Finally, a COX employee (my step-son) was able to contact a person at www.urcsupport.com ([email protected])
who provided him with a remote with the new chip for the code
in it. Works like a charm. It can be done. I hope you all find
a solution; maybe this will help.
For the Sony RM-V310 here are the Sylvania TV codes: 011, 012, 003, 073. There is no code listed for a Sylvania TV/VCR Combo. The Sylvania DVD codes are: 020, 044, 049. The Sylvania VCR codes are: 013, 011, 012, 041, 067, 063.

We just bought a Sylvania LC370SS8 (37") flat panel tv from Sears. We also cannot get a code for our Cox remote, and my step-son is an installer supervisor for Cox! He tried every code in the Cox remote guide, called Sylvania (Funai) and then suggested that we take the TV back. Other than that, we are very happy with the TV. I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem. Apparently we are not alone in this.

I have just bout the Sylvania LCD 37" HDTV flat panel and yes the cox remote is not possible to program to it... its horrible I swear using two remotes.... anybody offers other solutions other then buying a new remote let me know..
