Connecting laptop VGA port to HDMI port on a TV
VGA to HDMI converter is required to connect a laptop to a TV with HDMI input. The VGA signal does not have an audio component. You need to connect an audio cable from the audio/headphone port on your laptop to the audio connector on your TV. There are HDMI converters with Audio input so you do not need to connect an audio cable to the TV. The audio is connected to the HDMI converter and then passes the audio with the video data to the HDMI cable to HDMI port on the TV. Check out these WEB site for these HDMI converters. http://www.aten.com/products/productItem.php?model_no=vc180 http://www.sybausa.com/productInfo.php?iid=1174 http://www.topbuy.com.au/tbcart/pc/Audio-VGA-to-HDMI-Video-Converter-Box-HD-HDTV1080P-p164633.htm

WHAT TYPE OF CABLE DO I NEED TO CONNECT HP NC6400 LAPTOP TO HD TV TO WATCH MOVIE ON TV FROM LAPTOP? VGA TO HDMI CABLE? THANKS

Hi.

The best way is to get a s-video converter to connect your round s-video computer output to your HDMI port on your tv. This is the best you can do according to your laptop connections. You will need a s-video cable, HDMI upscale converter box and HDMI cable.

The other way is to plug a VGA cable to your tv VGA port if you have one.

VGA to HDMI is also possible with a converter. A standard VGA cable with a HDMI plug on the other side will not work because your computer sends out an analog video signal and HDMI is digital only.

Hope it helps!

My hdmi port for my notebook is not connecting to my television. My computer is an HP G50-112NR and my television is a Vizio.

Use this key combination after connecting your cables CTRL + F4. This will help establish a connection between your laptop and your TV. Goodluck.

I need to connect pc to tv (digitech video) to watch a dvd from my laptop onto my tv????

Hi,
You can connect your Laptop with your TV in various methods which depends on the type of connectors available in your laptop as well as TV.
1. If your laptop as well as your TV is having HDMI ports, then buy a good HDMI cable and connect them. Simple :)
2. If your laptop as well as your TV is having VGA connect ( similar to that of monitor connector), then get a good quality VGA cable and connect them :) Again Simple.
3. If no matching port is not available as suggested in previous tips, then you have to go for appropriate convertors depending on the connecting ports available in your laptop and TV
I hope this is helpful to you :)

Hooking up my hp laptop to a sony trinitron tv

Hello,

Let me explain on how to connect the TV to HP notebook.

There are two ways to connect the TV to the notebook. One is with the S-Video cable and another one is HDMI cable. (If you computer had HDMI port)

Connecting notebook and TV with S-video cable:

You need to get the Svideo cable and connect it to the notebook Svideo port to TV Svideo port and press Fn+ F4 to get the notebook display on the TV.

For the first time pressing the Fn+F4 keys, you will get the display on the TV and there will be no display on the Notebook.

If you press the Fn+F4 for second time, you will get display back to the notebook and Tv screen becomes blank.

By pressing the same keys again will show the display on both the screen.

Samething connecting with the HDMI cable, if your computer had HDMI port.

If you won't get the display on the external screen even after following the correct process, then once you need to reinstall the display driver.

If the issue persists, then you have to check with another cable.

Note: No need to install any software on the notebook to connect the TV to the notebook.
