Just snapped the handle off of a Danby front load washer DWM5500W-1. How can I open the door and where can I get a replacement handle?

I straightend a small bottle opener, the type that has a catch punched in the middle, we used t call them church keys, and slipped it under the spring. Now when I pull the improvised door handle and push toward the latch the catch part releases the latch.
I could not find a replacement part. It seams the only parts still available are the ones that seldom break!
