Make sure the drain hose is not lower than the top of the tub, also check the drain hose to make sure it isn't pushed two feet into the stand pipe or drain it only needs to be about 6 to 10 inches in.

Drain is to low. You will have to raise the drain hose above the top of the washer. Whats happening is the water is siphoning out as fast as it goes in.

Washer leaks during fill up from underneath

It is going to either be the tub hose that goes to the pump or the pump itself. If both of these are ok then you would need to replace the tub seal. To replace the center tub seal you remove the tub and motor from the washer by getting the 2 springs off there and taking the hoses off. Unplug the motor harness and the whole thing comes out. Here it some photos of how it all goes down.

Maytag washer doesnt fill with water. after about 3 inches of water in bottom, it starts draining out.

pull the drain hose out of the wall
it should only be six inches in the wall
or will create a syphone and the washer will continue to fill and drain and fill and drain

Maytag legacy series tub wont fill

Your drain hose is too low or there is no air gap where the hose enters the drain line.
This causes the water to siphon out as it fills.

Maytag Legacy Series Top Load Washer model SAV515DAWW When filling, the cold water just trickles in and takes a long, long time to fill. When I unscrew the hose from the washer and turn the water on it...

From what you have said, you may have a bad solenoid in your water fill valve. it's the rubber piece under the debris screen. if you can get that out and replace it, you'll be golden.

Maytag washer will not fill

If it wont fill properly it sound to me me like a preasure switch. Take the control panel off and look at the load size selector switch (preasure switch). This has a hose connecting it to the wash tub. Follow that hose back to see if it may have some kind of blockage in the line. If not you may need to replace the switch.

Maytag legacy series washer not holding water

Same problem here. But according to Maytag Service, the draining pipe may be too deep inside the draining tube on the wall, thus creating a siphon effect and not allowing the tub to fill.
Their suggestion is to ckeck the pipe and make sure no more than 6-8 inches are inside the draining pipe. This should take care of the suction. We'll see, Imma do that when I get home.
