Tivo DirectTV remote problem

My remote control power and volume buttons don't work anymore. Have reset codes multiple times. Have changed batteries. I can see the TiVo unit's red light flashing everytime I push either of those two buttons, but it doesn't work. This first happened sporatically, now it seems to be permanent. Can you help, please?

My remote is working, the light turns red when i press a button, but nothing happens. it seems liek the remote isnt sending a signal to the reviever, what do i do?

I bought a Tivo HD; after about three months the remote failed. Rebooting the tivo, replacing batteries in the remote, rebooting the remote, removing all other IR sources (all tivo suggestions) didn't work, so I bought a new remote. It worked for about three weeks, and now it has failed too. Needless to say, all the suggested remedies don't work for the new one either.

It seems that replacing the remote every month has taken the place of the subscription in tivo's revenue stream.

my tivo remote is not working. The red light comes on when I push the buttons, but nothing happens. I have changed batteries, but that did not help. Is there a code for the remote? What can I do besides buying a new TIVO remote?

the volum and the tv cuts on and off, but i cant do anything else! I have 2 direct tv hookups and one base works both of them. But the tv in a different room does not pick up the signal. So i haft to walk up to the recever and change th channel that close, while the tv is in a different room. WHAT DO I DO!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem, my tivo button isn't responding or sending me to the main menu. the tivo box lights up and so does the remote, but nothing happens. How do I fix it?

Hi Did you check the batteries,and if they're put in properly.
Make sure you have fresh batteries and not 2 different kinds. then do your codes again. Good luck.

TIVO DirectTV RC65 Remote Control Programming by Code Search

Here are the steps to program your TIVO DirectTV RC65 remote control using Code Search:

Turn on the TV or component.
Slide the MODE switch to the TV, AV1 or AV2 position, as desired.
Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same time until the green light under the selected switch position flashes twice, then release both keys.
Enter 9-9-1 followed by one of the following four digits: 0 for Sat box, 1 for TV, 2 for VCR/DVD/PVR, 3 for Stereo.
Press PWR, or other functions (e.g. PLAY for VCR) you want to use.
Point the remote at the TV or component and press CHAN UP. Repeatedly press CHAN UP until the TV or component turns off or performs the action you selected in step 5.
Use the CHAN DOWN key to step back a code.
When the TV or component turns off turns off or performs the action you selected in step 5, stop pressing the CHAN UP key. Then, press and release the SELECT key.

NOTE: If the light flashes 3 times before the TV or component responds, you've cycled through all codes and the code you need is not available.

Here are the steps to program your TIVO Direct TV RC65 Remote Control:

Locate the 5-digit code for your DIRECTV® Receiver. (See Users Manual)
Power on the DIRECTV Receiver.
Slide the MODE switch to the DIRECTV position.
Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys until the green light under the DIRECTV position flashes twice, then release both keys.
Using the number keys, enter the 5-digit code. If performed correctly, the green light under the DIRECTV position flashes twice.
Aim the remote at your DIRECTV Receiver and press the PWR key once. The DIRECTV Receiver should turn off; if it does not, repeat steps 3 and 4, trying each code for your brand until you find the correct code.

Your TIVO DirectTV RC65 remote control is now setup to control your DVR. A digital copy of your remote's owners manual is available here.

Try this: Press and hold the TV Power button and the Dirctv/TIVO button at the same time. Hold both buttons down for about 4 seconds or until remote light stays red. Then press the channel up button until the tv turns off. You may press the button over 100 times. You need to go slow. When the TV turns off press the enter button (or select button).

Remote to my tivo won't work my on/off and volume on Akai TV

I recently bought a used LCT2060 that had no remote. I figured my comcast cable remote would work without a problem but it didn't. So 3 universal remotes later I found my solution...a radio shack

universal gamer remote. It controls up to 5 components plus your xbox360, playstation and pc. The price on sale was a mere 12.97, not bad if you ask me. Hope this helped. The code that worked for the Akai

Volume and mute buttons suddenly stopped working

Try changing the batteries. Most times the "tivo" buttons will work but the "tv" buttons will stop working when the batteries are low.

If you have done that, go back into settings and program the remote again for your tv, then give it a shot.
