DVD RECORDER Hi can you help me with this.I have a program stored in the hdd titles and i have it on lock, but when i try to unlock it keeps asking for a pin number which i dont have as it did not ask for when i locked it

It is corrupted - do not start it but from options DELETE it. If nothing else helps, reformat the HDD.

Go to the hard disk setup menu.

Chose initiolized HDD, same as picture below.




Sometimes this can fix the problem.

Regarding the firmware, I do not think there is any firmware update available for download for this unit.

I did not find any download for your product. Often, the image disk is distributed only to qualified repairers.

1. You must be in the Disc Navigator (HDD)
2. Highlight the title you want to erase.
3. Select 'Erase' from the command menu panel.
4. Select 'Yes' to confirm or 'No' to cancel, then press ENTER.

Choose Dub on remote. Choose HDD to DVD. When you are looking at your HDD Titles, move the cursor (the highlighted box, using the left/right buttons on your remote) to the title you want to Dub. Hit the OK button on your remote. Then hit the Dubbing button on your remote. If you are ready to record, move cursor down to Start Dubbing. Choose speed, then hit OK button.

You will have to split the title and record on more than one DVD. The default speed is SP, that is 2 hours of recording. If you want to record longer programs, go into setup and change the default record speed to one of the other settings, for example: SP+ which is 2 1/2 hours or one of the other longer record settings. This DVD burner will only record at the same speed as you recorded to the hard drive. You can also edit out the commercials by using segment. Go to the title you want, press the right arrow, scroll down and select segment. When you want to start your edit, press enter. when you want to stop the edit, press enter again. You can use your right arrow to skip forward 30 seconds and your left arrow to skip back 10 seconds if you went too far when editing. You will see where your edits are on the screen by the darker color. Do this through the whole program. When you record to DVD, the commercials will not be recorded. Hope this helps you.

You do know that you must "finalize" the DVD after recording title(s) onto it?

hi, the default password/code stated in the user manual for my philips DVDR3460H is "3308".. try using that to unlock your recording - although, - it does state in manual that code needs to be change to own personal code before can lock and unlock programmes (buts its let you lock - so should also let you unlock) anyway to change the password - using the setup menu - browse down to change password and first input 3308 and then your own choice (sorry to state the obvious - but some people might need to hear the obvious - no offence intended)...

The DVD needs to initialise the disk first. Come out of the HDD dubbing menu and press DVD on the remote. The blank recordable disk should be recognised and you should see Initialise disk? on the screen. Press Start and hey presto, you can now dub from the HDD Movie dubbing menu (as per the manual instructions).

1. select the recording you want to copy.
2. press the SELECT button. You should see a yellow / red icon by the title.
3. press RECORD / DUB.
