Too bright My new monitor is too bright , it hurts my eyes. How do I dim it? I have not been able to pull up the manuel off the cd that came with it or the quick start. I ran the auto ,but it is tooo bright.

Mine is Acer 19 ". Much too bright. Th ere tailer told me to put resolution at 1280 x 1020. It looked fine in the shop. I changed resolution setting to 1280 x 1024 which is the maximum. Still much too bright for reading documents. They come out in lihjt purle rather than black.

I just bought an Acer 19 inch this morning and I am assuming you have the same controls on the bottom of monitor. On mine I push the menu button twice....the left arrow once to select the brightness slider.....push the menu button again to turn slider red and active...then use your left or right arrows to adjust brightness...afterwards you use the menu to get you back to the exit button and that's it....I hope Don

I agree that the quick start guide and even the user manual is sadly lacking in concise instructions. I read both and still had to experiment to figure it out.....Good Luck....D on

You would have to send it to the manufacturer. I know how but have no schematic to accomplish this. Brightness is controlled by a resistor that limits power to the display. Sometimes it is done digitally and involves reprogramming.

Turn down the brightness of your monitor. There are touch sensitive buttons beneath the Samsung logo that will adjust things accordingly.

When you have your laptop turned on and fully loaded hold the fn button and us the down arrow key to turn down the brightness the down arrow key is located to your right if faceing the monitor they are blocked togetherleft right up and down

Hi my monitor has bright colours on it and i cant make out what im doin its really bright and hurts my eyes

Turn off the pc but leave the monitor on. unhook the monitor from the pc. the screen SHOULD run a "self test" with a moving white green red blue box. if that box is on a bare black screen and there are no bright spots or cracks or anything weird looking, then the screen itself is ok. If however, you see odd shades of blue and pink and it looks cracked or scratched or has lines in it, then it is time to replace that screen.
