it could be a big end bearing i dont know where the knocking sound is comeing from but if it is your piston and conrod may be comeing loose then by that time u may need a new moter but can be repaird at a less cost u should not be driveing at all
- spark plugs fouled or worn (likely after about 50000 km) - low fuel pressure (maybe) - ignition timing not correct (an ECU problem, is there any check engine light?) - air leak into the intake manifold (the most likely)
These engines develop a split in the big hose from the air cleaner to the air flow body. Look for that first.
How noisy are they, are they noisy when you start the engine and then quiet down, do they get louded as you go faster? Noisy valves could be normal as Chrysler engines do have a clicking sound on these big engines. It is a hemi by the way.
hi this could be a timing fault, it sounds like the valves are opening at the wrong time, making the fuel build up in the pots and of course when it does spark that's when you get the big bang, the built up fuel burning , try checking your timing as you actually might be 180dgs out on the distributor not the engine....hope that helps
if it sounds like two metal peices, its either a rod or lifter, a rod means new engine time, a lifter can run for some time, bbut robs performance.......
how it seems that the engine is lossings fuel pressure i would get a fuel pressure check done and also change the fuel filter if that doesn't help you might have a bad sensor. is the check engine light on? if so then i would get it scanned and see what that pulls up.
