Dell 1815 All in One Printer Says No Paper When Paper is Full

I have a Dell 1815 All in One Printer. It gives me an error message which says "No paper" even when the paper is full. I have tried clearing the printer's settings and then turning it off and back on, but that did not work. I also checked to make sure that the paper sensor is swinging freely (it is). Do you have any other suggestions for how to fix this problem? It obviously won't print when it thinks there is no paper.

Your default paper source might have been changed.
Go to Menu > Copy Defaults > Select Tray and switch it to one of the trays.

Most likely the printer is asking for paper in the Manual Printer Feeder (not the tray). Try put paper in the MPF.

Just for clarity, the MPF is found on the front of the printer. Open the door located directly below the paper exit cavity. (aprx. center of the front side of the printer) Then place paper in the opened space.

On 2/1 and then again on 2/3 we have received an error message " Open Heat Error". At that time the printer would not function. Upon shutting down, and turning back on the message was removed...but this is...

Any heat errors on the dell 1815 means the fuser has gone bad. Your best bet is to replace the fuser, part # UG297. Here is a video that shows you how to replace it. Iteminc.com has these in stock and ships same day (till 7pm est). Hope this helps, Good luck!

Dell 1815 dn - bogus front door open message

Hey, make sure the front door is shut, if it is, you most likely need to replace the High Voltage Power Supply (Part# WH773). Iteminc.com has this part and can ship same day. The sensor which reads if the door is open can go bad and it is part of the HVPS.

Dell Laser Printer M5200

There is a small flip lever that monitors the paper output. If this gets stuck it will give this message. This is on the left side where the paper exits the printer. You may also have a bad sensor but most of the time it just gets stuck.

Paper jam 11

Step1
Turn the printer off and on to see if it can automatically clear some or all of the jam. Many printers provide an error-code listing on the front panel display for the area where the jam occurred. If your printer shows an error code, be sure and check the printer manual to see if that identifies the area of the printer where the jam occurred.
Step
2
Turn off the printer.
Step
3
Remove any paper trays. Inspect them for wrinkled or damaged paper.
Step
4
Open any other doors that give access to the printer's paper path and to the toner or ink cartridge.
Step
5
If necessary, remove the toner or ink cartridge. Place it in a bag or away from light to avoid damaging it.
Step
6
If you find a piece of jammed paper, remove it by holding it with both hands and pulling firmly (see A). The goal is to keep the paper from tearing. If several pieces are jammed together, try pulling out the middle piece first to loosen the jam.
Step
7
If the paper does tear, try rotating the roller gears manually to free the paper (see B). Don't force anything, though.
Step
8
Replace the toner or ink cartridge and paper trays, close any doors you opened and turn the printer back on.
Step
9
If the printer paper jam message still appears, then there is still some paper in the printer. Reinspect the paper path.
