Use Nero if any of those other programs show up
on the dropdown menu of burners dvdrom player
etc you will have to unistall completly the drivers

It always a good idea to clean the registry of
entrants to uinstalled programs those old
keys and strings can cause problems
Is DMA enabled for the drive? If it's sharing an IDE channel with another drive (hard drive, for instance) make sure they're not using the same DMA.
You could also try updating the firmware for the drive. The only place I've found that is from a Gateway site - but while it says it's for their laptop, it's firmware for the drive so it should work on any system using this drive. Here's the link:

If none of that helps, let me know and I'll try to find something else.

I tried Nero, and I got the same result. I have used several different brands of dvd, and I have the file saved on hard drive. I have tried other projects with same results. I am using dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd+rw's and dvd-rw's.
I have used several different disc copiers from various software companies including nero.
