Remove the USB flash drive from the USB port on your computer. Restart the computer and wait for the operating system to finish loading. Plug the flash drive back into the USB port and attempt to access it again in case the computer stopped recognizing the drive for some reason.

Transfer any files on the flash drive to the hard drive of your computer if the USB flash drive has any functionality at all.

Open the Start menu by clicking on the Windows icon on the bottom tool bar. Click on the "Control Panel" link. Scroll down through the list of available options and click on the icon labeled "Administrative Tools" that has an image of a box filled with check marks.

Find the Computer Management icon at the top of the window and click on it. Wait for a new window to appear on the screen and click on the "Continue" button to bring up the Computer Management window.

Locate the "Storage" entry on the left side of the Computer Management window. Click on the black box next to the entry to expand the menu. Click on the "Disk Management" icon that appears below the Storage entry.

Right-click the name of the the USB flash drive that appears at the center of the window. Click on the option labeled as "Format..." from the menu that will pop up. Select the "FAT16" option from the first drop-down menu and click on "Start" to format the flash drive.

Return to the Control Panel and click on the "Device Manager" icon. Scroll down to the entry labeled as "Universal Serial Bus Controllers." Right-click on the entry for your USB drive and choose "Update Driver." Wait for the latest USB driver to finish downloading and then attempt to use the flash drive again.

Verbatim 1TB hard drive shows lots of free space , but when i try to copy anything on to it it takes literealy forever . what could be wrong with it . Was working grand up till now . Drive is completely...

The problem defined arises when there are bad sectors on the hard drive.
Please do a complete disk check by the following procedure.
1. Open my computer
2. Right click on the drive related to the 1TB HDD
3. Select properties
4. on the tools tab select the disk check option.
5, select the two option that comes on the popup window to automatically check and also for recovery of the bad sectors.
after the scan is complete do a safe removal of the device using the eject option in my computer or the safely remove option in the taskbar near the date/Time.
PS. Removing the device unsafely can cause a HDD crash and increase the number of bad sectors.

I have got a 2gb scan disk memory card i cant access it or format

Hello Friend,
Here is a method to try:

  1. Backup all data from your hard drive to another hard drive or CDs or DVDs.
  2. Turn off your computer.
  3. Insert the USB drive to a USB port.
  4. Turn on your computer.
  5. Hit the F8 key when prompted to get to your system bios. Some computers required the Delete key or F2 instead of F8. There should be a note on the screen that specifies the key.
  6. Navigate your bios (usually using your cursor keys) to boot from CD drive first. Save and exit.
  7. Insert your operating system disc aka Operating System Restore disc. Your computer should restart. If not, restart it yourself.
  8. Follow the instructions for installing your operating system. When the option to select which drives to format comes, you should be able to see your USB disk in the list.
  9. Format the disk with FAT32 for Win98 or previous. Format with NTFS for anything after e.g. NT, 2000, XP etc.
  10. Depending on your options, you may be able to opt out of the operating system install at this point. If it was running well beforehand and you can, leave your other drives alone and quit the re-installation.
  11. Reset the computer to boot from the disc drive the operating system is on instead of the CD drive as before. You should have your working flash drive detecting and usable now in windows.
  12. If you didn't get the option to opt out of the re-installation, continue to follow the instructions onscreen and complete the re-installation, formatting whatever drives are required. Note: Do not try to install your operating system onto your USB disk drive. Also be cautious when formatting to keep in mind all data could be lost.
Best Regards,

try formatting the h drive and see if it works... if that doesnt work, download sansa updater from here http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/Installer/1083/SansaUpdaterInstall.exe run the updater while your player is connected to pc and it should download the appropriate firmware

COMPUTER HANGING PROBLEM.

There Can be various reasons my frnd first check out the CD you r using for installation is fine means nt scratched, then your CD rom, and at last boot your conputer from a floppy or dos and run Check disk if the hard drive chkdisk completes and it does nt show up that hard drive file sys is RAW, if it shows up then say your harddrive by bye, thats what i hav to do if such a hard drive shows up, and if you have guts then try using number of different software like test disk and HDD regenerator they may pull your hard drive 6 more months.
If that stuff does nt solve your prob please provide more detail and check your hardware to see if no pins etc are broken

2nd HDD

Check Computer Management / Disk Management. Windows on Windows XP, Probably the Drive needs formatting first and partitioning before it will visible on My Computer. By Default the new Hard Drive is "Unpartitioned / Unallocated". So acess disk Management to format and partition the Hard Drive.

To access the computer management and disk management and create and partition under disk management, Check Videos for guide :

Cannot acess hard disk partitions?

Hi, I hope you are using Windows XP and you have partitioned the disk properly.
Goto Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Computer Management> Disk Management
Now you should see all the disks and partitions in each disk and partition names of each partition. Right click the parition and you get all options to do.
Note: Be careful not to mess with C:  partition. Try to stay away from it.
