I have a 22 hp Snapper Zero turn mower. I turned it off to raise the blade and it won't start. I am told it is the seat relay? How do I fix it?

Did you forget to push in the pto switch when trying to restart? if it cranks over when your in the seat then it's not the seat switch.

SOURCE: I have a craftsman zts 7500 zero turning radius 26

i going to assume that yr tractor does have the hydrolic p.t.o. that controls the drive and cutting mechanism's???... if so you might start with checking the hydrolic fluid in the resevior. or you might check into replacing the hydrolic p.t.o. pump , if you ran the tractor in heavy work without any hydrolic fluid in the p.t.o. pump the pump is probably burnt up. if so im sure you can beat the cost of a new pump by rebuilding it yrself with a kit.

SOURCE: Snapper Zero Turn mower. Blade will not engage. Any suggestions?

I am not sure what type of blade engagement mechanism you have (ex. clutch, tensioner/idler pulley, etc...) but make sure that the blades can spin freely with the belt taken off of their pulleys. It could very well be that one of the pulley bearings is seized.

SOURCE: Craftsman zero turn - blades won't engage

The PTO switch contacts to operate the clutch that starts the blades is defective. I have replaced mine and the new one just failed again. Sears must know this is a defect problem but so far they are quiet about the problem

When you get out of the seat a switch activates so that it cannot be started or left on. If the switch fails, it wont start. You may have another kind since you did not post the model number.

Sounds like the seat switch is not reading you are in the seat. Without a wiring diagram, it is difficult to say exactly.

My 50" troy bilt zero

All riding mowers have a seat safety, blade engage safety and a brake clutch safety, some mowers have a reverse mowing safety. Seat under the seat, blade and brake you will have to check the linkages underneath, and if there is a reverse mowing one I have seen them near the shifter handle right under the fender.
