SOURCE: better fm reception

Is it just a single wire?

If so, purchase a cheap FM antena. It looks like a "T" when spread out (4' to 5'). That should help.

You can purchase an "amplified" antenna, but if your area reception is really bad (such as in a valley) the antenna would just amplify the noise as well. Look for web based radio in this case or if you have cable there are stations on it.

SOURCE: 2007 Toyota Sequoia Dashboard Access to Radio console FM Antenna

Pull off the 3 knobs for the heat controls. You will see a screw under the center knob. Remove it. Look to see if there are any screws near the vent grilles, remove them, if they are there. The whole center fascia then pulls out towards you. Remove the 4 bolts, and the radio is out. Easy.

SOURCE: My AM/FM Radio in my 2006 Ford Crown Vic does not

Your antenna is built into the rear window. You should be able to see the connection in the upper part of the trunk under the back window. If it isn't loose there, I suspect your antenna wire has come loose from the rear of your radio, or else the antenna wire is damaged somewhere in between the radio and the rear window. You'll have to pull it out and inspect it.

I have a 2010 nissan rogue cd changer fm fades in and out

FM need a good antenna, buT FM in the country side will be weak
or even dead, FM does not travel far at all ,even only 20 miles
AM we have super power stations that cover most the country.
I bet the RADIO is just fine.
it can be bench tested with a 1 strand of say 4 feet of wire for an antenna.
you posted about only a RADIO not CD and not AM
FM is short ranged, 88 to 108MHz. is that
no town told , but you can call your closest station and ask them there coverage, spec.? 50miles or 10 or? what ever.
or you can go to a 2nd car, test FM see if there is one strong station.
if not there there is none.
on home RADIO we use a roof mounted 30Ft high antenna, FM
and goes way father,.
in car that can not be done, most antenna amps in cars only increase noise.
is this your first car, or first ever FM radio.?
yes antenna's can fail even the ground, (it is 2 wire coax to fail)
the mount can corrode. the cable can be bad.
some have antenna in the wind shield glass, and some one puts in new glass with no antenna there well that fails hard.
FM is mostly a CITY BIG DEAL, no living in the sticks.
also there are tiny FM micro station, and those are weak.
only line get a FM map for you town, just like Cell phones but for FM.
radio. see what is there and its POWER/coverage.

I have a 1992 chevy that has radio that gets fuzzy noises whenever i go under electrical wires.

Am signals and power transmission wires do not coexist well-that is normal. If you have the same issue with FM signals, check ground wires on you radio and check to see if the antenna is NOT grounded.

I dont get am or fm on my 2000 chevy malibu radio, all the colored wires are connected to the stereo thats about it

There may be a problem with your antenna wire. It will be a thick black wire that plugs into the other side of the radio opposite the wire harness. You need to make sure this is plugged in, in order to receive radio signal.

Bad Radio reception in new 2009 Mazda3 Sport GS model

I would venture a guess that the antenna wire that plugs into the back of the radio is not seated properly. Did the dealer tech just listen to the radio or did he/she actually check the connections on the back of the unit? A faulty antenna connection would explain why it only happens with some stations and not others. Maybe the stations that are not being a problem are transmitting a more powerful signal or are closer in range than the ones that you are having trouble picking up clearly. Just a thought. Hope this helped and best wishes.
