Your ability to receive stations will be based on the the type of antenna you have. There are three typical types: a Yagi ( It is the traditional type) it is uni directional ; bi--directional; and lastly omnidirectional. Both the Yagi and Bidirectional need to be pointed toward the local ABC affiliate tower to receive signal this may result in loss of others channels at that time. Finally all antennas have a range that they are effective. Check the range of the antenna you have. If you go to
www.antennaweb.org they can tell you the proper azimuth for pointing your antenna and they will give you a breakdown of the towers so you can see the specific tower you need to point toward to get ABC and if I remember correctly they give you the distance from your location to the tower.
