TOSHIBA 40H80 projection TV - no sound / no picture

I would suspect the problem is in the convergence circuit---only one simple way to know---get at and un-solder all 18 pins on both the STK chips it uses.

Once they are free try to turn set on--if it comes on one of the chips is bad and both will have to be replaced.

try converence board going out on your unit usally about 300 bucks to fix ok thx nick

The tv "LAMP" LED light indication flashes or stay on.Ur tv the projection lamp life are over.Ur tv require a new projection lamp.

Tv have "LAMP" indication LED light blinking?The tv projection lamp is dead,require changing.Hearing alot of clickings sound too?Mean the board,call the Ballast board is dead.Require change the Ballast too.The Ballast board,the board that help to ignite the projection lamp.

check your lamp, if lamp has been replaced then re-set the lamp timer, if you hear a clicking or buzzing and no picture is probable that you could have a ballast problem. I'd check the lamp first though.

That is a projection TV and the lamp in the projector is probably burnt out. Look online for a replacement. Good Luck.

i think the convergence is need to be aligned

The only thing you can do is to unplug the tv for 30 min. Then turn it back on and see if that fixed it. If not call a repair man, you are most likely missing a power supply voltage or deflection voltage.

you didnt say if the set was working?? if its not I would first try the power regulator IC in the power supply It will start with an STR#####.. This goes bad alot in these sets. Good luck
