Cannon copier pc940 paper jam

Cant get paper jam light to go off - cant find any paper jammed.

    canon i960 -three flashing orange lights (paper jam error) but no paper is jammed. The print cartridge will not slide to center either-- I have tried to get the printer into service mode, but cannot get there because the orange lights never stop flashing.

    There doesn't appear to be a paper jam, but the light won't go off and it won't function. We have tried to clear out the machine, clean it with air to maybe clean off the sensor.

    DSM415 was working fine. Copier was moved from one office to another. Paper now keeps on jamming.

How to repair flashing paper jam on Canon PC940 printer copier
Depending upon the copier, with some of these, you can press a button and it displays where the jam has occurred. As annoying as knowing that happens to be, here is the repair manual. Starting on page 11-75, there is in intricate detail, step by step procedures for clearing the jam, apparently depending upon the location of the jam. One instantly feels like one has fallen down the rabbit hole. It does take concentration and the un-crossing of eyes to wade through the steps. On the Canon site, there is a reference to cleaning it of a static charge if there is a repeated pattern of jams. That appears to be the sole informational reference to a jam for the particular printer there. Here is the download for the manual. Yes, often it is not a paper jam but a fail of paper to feed out of the tray which the machine thinks it has a jam. Clean feed rollers with Windex, or alcohol. Check the paper tray to see if paper size panels are set to the correct position. portrait, landscape, width length ect.. Good luck.

Check rollers/ replace. check for peices of paper that got ripped off inside the paper path from previous jams.

Copier making loud noise
Remove the drum/toner unit and close the top,...does it still make the noise? If so, there is a paper jam in the fuser section (left side)
I also have a Canon PC900 series copier....mine does not have the automatic document feeder, however the machine is the same....If the noise persists, you will probably need to replace the Fixing (fuser) Unit drive gears (worst case senerio) perhaps you can locate the jam in the fuser and "carefully" remove without damaging the Fixing Belt....good luck

look on the control panel if there is a diagram of your printer it will usually light up the area where the paper jam is located.


once you find location of paper jam there is normally a green knob in the area of jam that when you manually rotate it will release paper also open paper drawer check for jam or unplug and plug copier back in somtimes this will force paper out as it resets
