No connection found

My camera successfully connected to my laptop dozens of times and pictures were downloaded successfully. All of a sudden I get the No Connection Found error. Also, when I click "play" to start the download, my camera freezes.

How do I install the ds 126071 0n my laptop?

Although the manual does not show how to connect to a computer, the system map shows how to use a mini USB cable to connect the camera to a PC. But before the camera will communicate with any PC or Laptop, it needs software.

From the Canon USA website you still can download the Zoombrowser EX software for free. It used to be the EOS Digital solution disk and the ArcSoft PhotoStudio Disk.
Before connecting the camera, install the software. Then when software (and driver) are installed, when connecting the camera, the software will start up and ask what to do. Like import the pictures to the computer.

Cannot download pics from GE X5 camera

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Why does my pc crash when i download my photos from the camera

It could be the camera, the connection, the computer operating system, the program on the computer you're using to download, or any of half a dozen other reasons.

If you're most interested in getting your photos downloaded than in pinpointing the exact cause, consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer at all.

Computer not recognizing my camera when connected

Most of the issues can be solved by either reinstalling the software or by disconnecting and reconnecting the device.
In this case we can close in on three solutions
1) The USB drive in the system is not functioning. Try connecting any other USB devices to the same USB port and check whether it works or not. If the other device works well then it could be a problem with the data cable or with the port in the camera (usually firewire)

2) The data cable used to transfer data might have become faulty.Try using another data cable if possible and still the same issue continues then try connecting another camera to the system and if the other camera gets detected then the problem must be with the camera.

3) Try connecting the same camera to another system and see whether the camera gets detected. If no, then the port in the camera is defective.

After this we can close in on which could be faulty. data cable / Computer / Camera.
