Hi, I have a ge modle jvm1631 and mine has two scerws in the front of the cover (can be hard to see in dim light) on some modles you might have to have door open and screws will go in from bottom of cover. Then there is a filter inside that you take out and remove a metal plate that covers bulb.
OK, This does not happen much on that model. This time I want you to work with me on the solution and test a couple test points on the motherboard. If you are comfortable with this let me know. It will require a voltage meter and an OHM meter. Let me know, Sea Breeze
