Samsung DLP TV HL-R5067W green vertical bars on screen no picture

During a storm last night my husband unplugged the tv when he plugged it back in this morning there was no picture he turned it off. Later I turned it back on and there were green bars no picture.

Check if it has a scrambled image on all sources ie - DVD- VCR - cable/satellite box. Since the PIP is normal it sounds like the signal source is bad.

Your model has a maximum resolution of 720p. What you might want to do is make sure that both your cable/sat box and game stations are outputting at no more than 720 resolution. It's easy to assume that all HDTVs may accept a higher signal, and while they might, some of the scene changes or handshakes may make that operation cause the symptoms you describe.
