SOURCE: Foot pedal

Your first port of call should be the Singer dealer from whom you bought the machine, it will be under warantee and you don't want to risk breaching the conditions by fiddling around yourself.

They have a duty of care to customers, and would be crazy to give poor service on a new machine.....phone them, outline the issues and arrange a time to meet with them (with the machine) to address the problems..perhaps they offer a familiarisation lesson, as many dealers do, that would also be of enormous benefit to you with a new machine and is a service we provide for all our customers to get them started, so they get maximum benefit from the beginning.

SOURCE: just bought a used model singer 6233 need to know

The Singer 6233 was one of the models that briefly were made using air-powered foot controls. So you aren't looking for a traditional electrical connection. Instead, your pedal cord's female end will connect onto a black male nipple, that sticks out on the right side of the machine (the side with the handwheel). Just push it on until it feels snug.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore sewing

Buy a new foot pedal for it, probably one of the electrical components inside the foot has failed.

There are Kenmore footcontrols for sale on www.sewingpartsonline.com. You could email them to check its right for your model if it isn't listed.

Obviously I'm assuming that you are in USA with 110 Voltage and that is what your machine is. If not and your country is 220V, you would need to source it from a reseller in your own country or another with the same voltage.

I have a singer Athena 2000 , it start working with out me touching the pedal. What can I do?

It sounds like your pedal might be stuck in the down position so it thinks your foot is on it. Unplug it, put some oil at the joints where the pedal goes up and down and work it up and down a little to get the oil into the joints. Then plug it in and see if it happens again. If it does, contact Singer customer service because you might have a defective pedal, but I don't think you'll need to after you oil it.

I have a Singer Athena 2000 that stops working randomly. I was able to start it again by turning the switch off and back on, but now it won't start.

Are you still having problems? If so try a different foot pedal. Make sure you use an original foot pedal for your singer. Just an idea.

Foot pedal not working

Well, you are definitely getting power from the electric plug in.

Let's do some diagnostic work. Do you hear anything when you press the foot pedal? Any hum? Did you happen to leave it in bobbin winding mode?

your machine doesn't have a "sew" button for use without the pedal. So please rotate the hand wheel toward you as you press the pedal. Did the motor take over and sew?

If you know someone with a meter... have them test the pedal. (they will place probes on/in the part that plugs in which tests for shorts, etc.) If that tests ok... then we know it's something more than the pedal and it will need servicing by a Singer Tech.

What is the proper way to thread a bobbin?

first go to singer website & check & see if they have a manual for the machine
Go to the singer website
Go to the home page
Go to customer service--click on it--it will show a small menu--click on instruction manual
In the box put the model number (example 4016) & click search

here are some other websites to check for a manual
sewingpartsonline.com
sewusa.com

lifts the presser foot, the needle move up & down when you press on the foot pedal.
