Yes to replace the lamp you need to remove the 2 screws. You can touch the lamp but I try not to. After the lamp is in you need to reset the hr timer for the lamp. to do this you need to look in manual on page 34.
If you do not have the manual you can get it here at link below.
In the manual, it says you have to go in the menu to the OPTION submenu. Go down to FILTER TIME and hold the right arrow down for 3 seconds. It will then go into a mini-submenu that, when you press the up arrow, will reset the filter time to 0. The key is to hold down the right arrow initially for THREE+ SECONDS to get into the reset filter time menu. This is NOT the submenu that has RESET - EXECUTE. That is a different thing that doesn't reset filter & lamp time.
Did you clean the air filter? You should vacuum it or use an air dusting can to clean it out.
Afterwards, reset the time in the menu. In the manual, it says you have to go in the menu to the OPTION submenu. Go down to FILTER TIME and hold the right arrow down for 3 seconds. It will then go into a mini-submenu that, when you press the up arrow, will reset the filter time to 0. There is a small tab on the lamp cover that should press into an "L" shaped slot on the lamp housing. This tab may break off, and not press into slot far enough to make the lamp dectection switch click. When the lamp heats up, the plastics expand and the detection switch opens. The projector quits as if no lamp is installed. The fix is to make an extension for the tab. I cut a small piece of sheet metal and crazy-glued it to what was left of the plasic tab.
