Installed new lamp unit had bad power supply board replaced it and now powers up green. screen lights for about 10 seconds then shuts down and flashes 7 times. unplugged for awhile tried again same results.....nothing is hooked up in read of tv... 7 times = audio problem... audio worked fine originally.. went over my installation of pwr supply board. looks good.... any suggestions for next step thanks in advance...kevin
....foot note this is my personal tv... you know how much we hate to work on our own stuff...
Just replaced lamp and power light goes green then orange and starts to blink 3 times
Just a thought...you *might* have a bad ballast in addition to that defective power supply. That flashing could be the ballast trying to ignite the lamp. A lamp is just like an enclosed welder's arc. The ballast generates a high-voltage spark to initially start the lamp, then low voltage with high current keeps it burning. If you look into the lens and see "lightning" flashes but no lamp ignition, that's what's happening. The ballast could've been damaged by the defective supply. Also, try a known-good lamp...just to rule out a defective new one--in the shop, we kept all old working lamps as testers.
