Dishwasher sounds like it is straining LG LD-2040WH

Dishwasher initially stopped with an E1 code. Pipes all checked out OK.
When switching on now, it makes a loud noise and the motor sounds like it is straining.
The drain hose is higher than the machine, so there is no problem there.

LD-2040WH

The IE or 1E error or fault code indicates that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve.

My LG dishwasher - model LD-12AW2 has 'E1' alert & won't work

This sounds like a anti flood activation due to water leak / spill detection. This device (polystireen float and micro switch) at the base of the washer detects any water leak and stops the washing cycle once water leak activates the switch via the float. Check if any water at the base of washer is cuasing the float to activate the switch. Rectify any leak / spill (normally a pipe / clamp) and this should solve the problem.

LG dishwasher error code E1

E1 is a code that the dishwasher displays after detecting a leak. There is a sensor on the pan at the very bottom of the unit. Take the bottom front panel off, look under the unit at the hose coming off the pump and your fill line to be sure no water is dripping. Run the unit in a wash cycle while doing this if possible.

"E 1 code error

E1 is a drain error. On the unit prior to mar 07 LG had a problem with wires breaking in the door. Turn off power supply, remove door panel and look for wires stuck in the insulation. Check continuity of the wires, if broken, splice and tape. Place insulation between black insulation and wires to prevent reoccurence.

E1 Error on LG Dishwasher (LD-2040WH)

Maybe the blockage is somewhere else. How about removing all the trays from the dishwasher, in other words, empty it from all racks and dishes and try it again
