The beaters won't go around. The motor is running fine. I believe the gears are stripped (cheap plastic made in China?). It's only five years old and moderately used. Is this repairable? I took it apart, but had no replacement parts. If this can't be fixed, and I need a new mixer, I do not want to buy another Sunbeam with the same problem. Thanks for any help. My mother's Sunbeam ran for 40 years. I only got rid of it because is was avocado green. Now I'm regretting my decision.
I can't solve this problem, but mine just died doing the very same thing. Motor is running, the revolving base is turning, and the beaters are just sitting there. Ruined an entire batch of divinity!
It has 2 motors, one for the base, one for the mixers. I've got the same problem here with no solution yet...

I understand your regret. I purchased the same machine thinking it would be as good as my mother's. Big mistake. Ended up buying a 60 year old vintage machine used to replace it which I was able to make work as good as new simply with just a bit of oil, grease and some adjusting. What a great way to spend a Sunday, giving a second lease on life to a marvelously well built, classic machine from the days where companies prided themselves building quality machine to last a lifetime :-)
