Press the mode button until the Alarm apears. Press the Start/Stop button to turn the alarm on/off and remove/add the chime. Whew! I had to figure this out after my 3 year old turned the chime on!

Solution #2 by Guest, posted on May 13, 2008 solved my problem. OUTSTANDING solution #2!
1. Hold in the MODE button until the alarm time appears. 2. VERY IMPORTANT - release and TAP the MODE button AGAIN, and the time should appear with the seconds flashing. 3. Use StART/Stop to choose among seconds, hours, and minutes, and 4. Use ADJUST to increase the selected number 5. Press MODE to put the thing back in regular operational mode.
After several attempts with other directions over the last four months, these 5 steps WORKED.
For Timex sport 1440 indiglo page through mode (bottom button ) til u get to time When time shows up hold down lap/rst button on right untilset starts flashing use mode buton at bottom to find element you want to change (let's stay minutes) put st./stop button at top to get to number (minute) you want hit lap/rst to get out.
If your set up is: Top-Left=Indiglo Top-Right=St./Stop Bottom-Left=Mode Bottom-Right=Lap/Reset
Than follow these steps: 1. Press Lap/Reset and hold. You should see the time the alarm was set for. 2. While holding Lap/Reset, press Mode. 3. Let go of all buttons. 4. There you go!
In "Time Mode" when time is displayed, hold the "mode" button until the alarm flashes. Press the "mode" button again and the display should change to the seconds flashing. Press the st/stop button to change location between seconds, minutes, hours, date, month, and day. Use the lap/reset button to make any changes.
These are settings for the Timex SPORTS 1440 Magnetism (5b841 -W163US) These are for the 4 button SPORTS 1440 (not 6 button) - they will also work for the 1440 SPORTS "Informer" model wrist watch - you will NOT find these instructions on the Timex website - only the 6 button which will not work on these watches is on that site!
