I have a moen pull out kitchen faucet that leaks

I have a moen kitchen faucet with a pull out spray spout that leaks at the base of the receptor only after turning the water off. It's not a steady stream, it just seeps. I don't know the exact model #. What needs to be replaced?

  • fanofnfl Oct 29, 2009

It's not leaking underneath the sink, only on top from the base of the receptor.

You have a bad internal o-ring or the sprayer o-ring is leaking, if you look under the sink turn it off and then turn it back on, if you see it leaking out the center shft where the water pipes go into then the faucet may have a broken pipe or loose pipe. check and tell me where it's leaking at. You can buy kits to repiar them they are inexpensive.

You can turn the water valve off from under thesink and unscrew the handle and take to any hardware store and buy a replacement o-ring and have it replace coat $2.00 takes about 10 minutes to fix.If you need more help let me know.

I have a single lever Moen Kitchen faucet that is leaking around the base on top what might be wrong with it

You need to replace the spout o-ring seals. A Moen #117 spout oring kit. If you have a faucet with a sprayer, you will use all three rings. If uit has no spray, you will use only two.

Need to replace O Ring but cant pull the spout off

there might be a allan screw holding it down usually located at the back of the faucet if not there is a chance that there is a screw on escutcheon just above the base of the spout this should screw off with a strap wrench.

7700 series Moen leaks at top and bottom of base hub

You can just replace the o-rings. You have to remove the large nut at the base of the spout. I posted a blog post -and a video about me replacing mine.

Moen 7700 leaking at base of faucet. how do you get to o-rings

Here's a link to show you how to get the spout off using "strap wrenches" The allow you to get the nut off at the base of the faucet spout without harming the chrome finish.

There is also a video at the bottom of the blog post showing how I did it.

I am leaking at the base of the spout. if you put any kind of pressure on it to move it from side to side it leaks. this is a two handle kitchen meon faucet

At the base of the spout it should have an o ring on the spout does it have a nut or cap on the spout that will unscrew to gain access to it. turn water off first.

If it is loose you could try tighting it , but most of the time it would be th e or ring.

I have replaced the cartridge on my single faucet single handle moen kitchen tap, but water still leaks out under the central area that holds the cartridge. Is there a schematic that shows where and what...

did you replace the spout, -o- ring's. they would cause a leak to show up there as well.no need to pull cartridge again, just handle, and then pull up spout and that is it. there should be a small packet of lube w/ -o- ring kit, lube up around shaft and new -o- ring's.available at any good hrd ware store

I have a Moen Single Handle kitchen faucet, it's leaking at the base and below the neck (where is swivels for the faucet to move side to side). How do I fix it?

Replace the "O" rings that are behind the spout portion. You will have to remove the top of the faucet and pull up on the spout section. There will be a couple of "O" rings there. It is best to have Moen send the parts to you as locating the proper size "O" rings can be difficult.

Replacing Moen O kitchen faucet O ring

if it is dripping from the spout then there is a cartridge that needs replaced...1225 for the single handle type and 1224 for the 2 handle type. Moen does not use O-rings in their valves. If it leaking around the base of the spout there is an oring kit that you will need and you will have to pull the spout off to access them. Most Moen faucets use a 117 kit for the spout but there are some different ones.

Moen kitchen faucet model 7430 leak

cartridge does not stop that type of leak. If it is leaking from around the base of the spout it is o-rings that are the problem that are onthe valve after you pull the spout all the way off.
