The best tool to do it is watchmakers knife, but any proper knife with hardened steel blade can do the job. Make sure the blade is NOT flexible.
Check carefully the sides of your watch and you will notice the groove. Place knife blade into that groove and press it in. At the same time try to make a scooping turn to lift the caseback. Usually there must be underlayed caseback as well and it opens exactly in the same manner.
Make sure you do all this carefully and do not let the blade to slip or your watch will end up with nasty scratches or even damaged movement.
That job isn't a big deal, but requires some skill, so, BE CAREFULL.

The contact springs most likely have nothing to do with your screen being black.
The watch will have an "AC" or all clear function that needs to be performed. Check the back lid for AC or reset instructions. If there are no instructions there then you will have to visit a watch repairman/technician to have this procedure performed as it involves touching the AC pad on the circuit board to the back of the battery already installed. The circuit board is easily damaged if not performed properly.

Opposite these two screws, the battery retaining clip goes down over a lug on the plastic body of the movement, and to the clockwise side of this protruding clip is a small extra piece of metal. Push a this screw driver or such between the plastic and the clip and it will pop up. Remove the battery and before replacing it, short out with a metal object the centre of the revealed movement with the small sticking up contact which was under the battery. Put the new battery in and set the hands to 12 o'clock - and it won't go until after midnight when it's received a radio signal.
(I don't have the instructions but managed to get the hands to rotate continuously by shorting out two of the three little round brass contact points at the side of the movement.) Good Luck!

After removing all screws you have to use fine pointed tweezers and pry up watch case back using them. Insert between case and case back and pry up using lever action.
