Error message received on jvc hard disk camcorder (GZ-MG77U) when properly connected to jvc dvd burner (CU-VD10) that reads: "incompatible disc! change disc". this same message appears on all new dvd-rw discs used with the device.

Sounds like there last on one of the units has worn out I'm afraid. Can you not try on a different burner as if that works then at least you'll know which unit is faulty.

Incompatible disc???

This device either needs a firmware upgrade or is actually faulty. It cannot be anything else.. Is it in warranty with JVC?

Problem formatting the disks

Your burner has gone south. You can try a firmware upgrade to possible correct the issue but if that does not do the trick then the burner needs to be replaced.

I have found that the cheapest DVD-R discs (the ONLY ones that the EVERIO accepts) are the best and I have no coasters.

Incompatible Disc Message

You need to use -R DVD disks, I used Maxell 1.4X speed disks wih no problem in a CU-VD10 berner. Hope this helps
