SOURCE: incompatible signal

Check your resolution settings on you playstation 3 menu's. If you are using an HDMI cable, there is a chance that your ps3 could be trying to output at 1080i or 1080p. The unit you have only goes up to 720p and if you set it any higher than that, you run the risk of having picture issues, or not getting a picture at all. Good luck to you

SOURCE: i have a sharp aquos and an older mac mini.

Actually, if your mac has the Mini Displayport connector, there is a $37 adapter you can use:

It will tie up one of your USB ports as well, which it uses for the audio signal.

It sounds like the Bluray player may be outputting the signal at a higher resolution than the TV supports. If the Bluray player has a scart or composite connection, connect with those first, and adjust its settings to output a lower resolution. Then reconnect the HDMI. Hope this works for you.

Hello Fixya team, I need help!

To set up your home theater system with the equipment you mentioned, follow these steps:
  1. Connect the Onkyo receiver to the NEC TV using an HDMI cable. Make sure the HDMI input on the TV is set to the correct input for the Onkyo receiver.
  2. Connect the Panasonic DVD player to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  3. Connect the Firestick Lite to the Onkyo receiver using an HDMI cable.
  4. Connect the Panasonic speakers to the Onkyo receiver using speaker wires. Make sure you connect the speakers to the correct speaker terminals on the receiver, which are usually labeled with the speaker's position (e.g. front left, front right, center, surround left, surround right).
  5. Configure the Onkyo receiver to use the correct input for each device. For example, set the input to "DVD" when you want to watch a movie on the Panasonic DVD player, or set the input to "Firestick" when you want to watch content on the Firestick Lite.
  6. Configure the audio settings on the Onkyo receiver to use the correct audio format for your content. For example, if you are watching a movie with Dolby Digital surround sound, make sure the receiver is set to decode Dolby Digital audio.
  7. Adjust the volume and other audio settings on the Onkyo receiver as needed to optimize the sound quality.
Once you have completed these steps, you should be able to enjoy surround sound audio from your Panasonic speakers through the Onkyo receiver.

When I go to hdmi4, which is where I go to access my firestick, I get a "no signal" message. How do I fix this to use my firestick?

It means there is no signal appearing at the HDMI 4 port of the TV, This could be because the Firestick is unplugged, or not working.
Repairlass1989 posted a suggestion to Additional Information that sounds good so I will repeat it in the Answer:
Repairlass1989 Nov 08, 2019 Unplug your tv and fire stick all together for 10 minutes after 10 minutes plug the tv and fire stick back in goto source hdmi channel and it should work had the same problem

I purchased a fire stick and I'm trying to hook it is to my tv I'm getting nothing should I still have my cable wire in my tv I have tried both ways and get nothin

Yes you can continue to use your cable. Firestick is connected to the HDMI port. You must have your tv source on HDMI to configure Firestick. Lastly, you must have a good wireless internet signal to setup Firestick.

Incompatible video signal has received check output device settings

My guess would be that your PS3 has somehow switched the output settings. You can reset the settings by pressing and holding down the power button till it starts blinking. Try connecting it with your RCA cables to a TV and if that works try going into your settings and setting the PS3 back to HDMI.

Won't accept my PS3 video signal

HDMI does not like being connected when units are powered up.

Try unplugging both units--wait and then connect the HDMI and power both units up again.
