SOURCE: incompatible signal
Check your resolution settings on you playstation 3 menu's. If you are using an HDMI cable, there is a chance that your ps3 could be trying to output at 1080i or 1080p. The unit you have only goes up to 720p and if you set it any higher than that, you run the risk of having picture issues, or not getting a picture at all. Good luck to you

You need to change the resolution on the Blu-ray to 720P to match the Tv native resolution.

Actually, if your mac has the Mini Displayport connector, there is a $37 adapter you can use:

It will tie up one of your USB ports as well, which it uses for the audio signal.

It sounds like the Bluray player may be outputting the signal at a higher resolution than the TV supports. If the Bluray player has a scart or composite connection, connect with those first, and adjust its settings to output a lower resolution. Then reconnect the HDMI. Hope this works for you.
