Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem.

My fisher and paykel top loader washng machine is bloked and will not Rinse, drain and spin. Mainly Drain as im pretty sure its blocked from fluff etc nybody can plese tel me how to unblock it? Thanks

The drain water pump is the main part in your washing machine that pumps out the water. If this is defective or has failed in any way, this will be the reason why your washer will not drain the water. Before you order a new drain pump, make sure tocheck the pump to be sure a small object like clothing or similar has not lodged itself insideof it causing the NO DRAIN issue. If the drain pump is not clogged, you can test it with a multimeter and remove and replace if needed. Go to Google or YouTube and search for "Replace Washing Machine Drain Pump" then type your brand and model number of washer to show you details on replacement.

Not pumping out water

Most likely cause is a blocked drain hose. With water in machine try removing the drain hose from where it joins the house drainage (connection to waste under sink or pipe that is specifically for WM.) Put this in a bowl and lower bowl to floor. If water runs out the drain hose is not blocked, if no water runs then the hose is blocked. If water runs then the pump is either broken or blocked - when it should be pumping if it makes a noise then it is not broken.

To unblock the hose or pump - drain the water from the machine (there should be a small pipe hidden behind a front cover at the bottom of the machine put this in a bowl (it will be very slow.) Once drained you should be able to access the pump (it is really an impeller) this should have a screw on front, undo this and remove you should now be able to clean the pump housing. You can also check whether the hose is blocked by blowing down it or pouring water down it. If it is blocked then squeezing the corrugated part of the hose will free some of the blockage. Keep doing this until water can be poured down it. If you live in a hard water area then it would be worth while doing a very hot wash on a regular basis to removed undissolved soap from the machine.

Good Luck

It won't drain or spin...and it stinks.

if machine washes...........but doesnt spin out water....then the pump is blocked.....
follow the waste hose into the back of the machine.......that is connected to the pump.
try getting machine to outside door.......
.let waste hose hang outside to drain most of the water out...
disconnect the pump half then unblock it..........job done.....

LG Intellowasher (Model WD-1023C)

The water pump can be blocked and thus stop the machine from finishing the wash cycle. In front on the bottom there is as hatch that can be opened with a flat screwdriver, the small black rubber pipe can be used to first drain all the water before the opening the filter. Small objects such as coins coluld be found in here, blocking the pump. Clean the pump by removing these, optionally blowing into the outlet (yuck!), to dislodge anything. If that does not help to fix the problem, you can clean that actual water pump, but this requires you to use a screwdriver to remove the pump.

Tilt the machine on its side, the pump is attached with 3 self-tapping screws. (if you can't figure out what the pump is you should probably let a technician do this). The pump has 2 parts to it, take it apart carefully and clean out all the dirt that has accumulated in there. Plastic friendly, waterproof grease can be applied to the pump spindle and bearing if available.

If the problem still persists a new pump is available from LG at a reasonable cost.
