Kenmore Dryer (Model #11073952101) starts, but WON'T stay ON

Gas Dryer Model
Here's the issue: 1. Push the start button and hold 2. the drum starts to rotate 3. Let go of the start button Expect: The machine to keep running Actual: The machine stops
Other Facts: - When things started to go bad, we could hold the start switch and twist the timer and sometimes it would start - We noticed that the drum does heat up if you hold the start down for a while, so the burner is working - We get same result when ''Timed'' & ''Auto/Moisture Sensor'' is selected (pressing Start button, drum turns; let go of Start button, doesn't run anymore) - We checked continuity on the starter switch while pressed - works - We checked continuity on the door switch while engaged - works - We checked continuity on the belt switch while pressed - works - We replaced the Electronic control board with a new one - No change - We replaced the timer selection nob with a new one - No change

Other hypothesis: - Bad temperature sensor? - Belt too loose and not engaging the belt switch?
We would like to avoid calling Sears Repair, which will cost $75 just for a trip charge with repair cost on top of that. Any ideas/help would be much appreciated.
Thank you! bcd

Your motor maybe going out. theres a switch on the motor that starts it . on most models the start switch is built into the motor. however some models the switch can be replaced by itself.

Kenmore dryer model 110.74994300 push start does not stay on

Lastly check ur DOOR SWITCH for continuity with a meter when the button is pushed in the (on/Door closed position,) it may have gone bad.
Kenmore Whirlpool Dryer Won Start Easy Fix
Test the PUSH start switch with meter for OHMS. Should show OHMS when pushed in or on start, and no ohms or infinity when in off position.

If you hear a humming/clicking sound from motor area you more than likely have a bad motor.
Try this test out to see if u have weak windings or relay/capacitor on motor.
Open the dryer door and turn by hand the drum while machine is on ON position. And you or someone else presses the door engagement switch in. If it starts up then u have bad windings

How can I fix my HE4 Gas dyer it will not start

Kenmore Whirlpool Dryer Won Start Easy Fix What to Test When Whirlpool or Kenmore Dryer Won Start or Run Kenmore Whirlpool Dryer Won Start Easy Fix

Electric dryer no start does nothing

Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage.

CHECK THERMAL SHUT OFF THERMOSTAT USUALLY LOCATED ON THE BLOWER. for OHMS or resistance with a meter. Should show a closed circuit. Ohms WHEN THIS FUSE BLOWS IT WILL SHUT DOWN EVERYTHING.

NEXT Test the PUSH start switch with meter for OHMS. Should show OHMS when pushed in or on start, and no ohms or infinity when in off position.

Another thing to check is the belt safety switch. With a multi meter.
Especially if u just replaced the belt. The belt safety switch is attached to the Tensioner and motor. IT LOOKS LIKE A DOOR SWITCH SOMEWHAT a little black pc of plastic with 2 prongs going into it. Sits at bottom of motor. Under the Tensioner. Attach meter clips to the 2 prongs on switch, Then when the little white push button is pressed in it should show continuity and none when released.

Have a Kenmore 90 series gas dryer. When I press the button to turn it on, it makes a noise but won't start

Assume the buzzing quit when you release the start button. Open the dryer door and slowly rotate the dryer drum in a counterclockwise (CCW) direction. Rotate the drum 2-3 revolutions and then shut the door and see if it will start. If it continues to just hum and not start could indicate a voltage issue, motor issue or a friction issue. Open the door again and locate the door switch plunger in the upper or lower corner on the hinge side of the drum opening. Hold the plunger in while someone begins rotating the drum counterclockwise. While turning the drum counter clockwise and holding the door switch plunger inwards press the start button. If it starts, there is likely a friction problem or motor problem. Check the blower fan and motor for any obstructions.
