IT IS FROM A GE COFFEE MAKER. RADIO SHACK HAS A 128C AND A 140C THERMAL FUSE. CAN I USE EITHER OF THEM?
Unfortunately, YoTeach's initial solution is in error, I believe. YoTeach mentions that typical temps for brewing
water are less than 200F, and THAT seems OK, from a couple of quick searches.
However, the component that is being replaced is not
necessarily working at the same temperature as the water needs to be.
The Microtemp G4A00 series has lots of temperatures, and the
TF216C means, AFAIK, that Tf is 216C(elsius).

Tf is the temperature at which fuse opens. So, the person ACTUALLY needs a thermal fuse
that opens (breaks the connection) at 216C.
Therefore, either of the two fuse temperatures mentioned: 128 & 140C, would open too soon:
i.e. at too LOW a temperature.
While 216C may seem like a high temperature (420F), for the
fuse to open, the thermal fuse is often very near the heating element. For comparison, I have a Gevalia CM500 coffee
pot, and the thermal fuses in my particular unit are Microtemp G4A00 184C-
which is about 363F.

That is your thermal fuse, anything lower temperature than that will be useless. Give some thought on how you are going to attach it to the wires, you cannot solder it on, the heat will travel to the fuse & blow it plus over time with the boiler heating it up to close to fail temp the solder will release.
The 216C is correct for this use. Any less would fail. This fuse prevents the element from burning out. The high limit is needed as the part this touched gets a lot hotter than 212 degrees. This is needed to boil the water. Keep searching online for the correct size.
Repair to my coffee maker was done with a slightly higher rated temperature fuse (218) found at Radio Shack. The fuse was installed with crimp connectors I found while searching the Radio Shack stock. The crimp connectors are used as the heat is too high for solder connections.
Those thermal fuses are much too high a temperature. The standard temperature for brewing coffee is less than 200 degrees Fahrenheit. This would equate to 93 degrees Celsius. Your 128C would allow the coffee maker to get to 262 degrees Fahrenheit. This is too hot. You need to find something more in the range of 80-90C. Good luck.
