If the door still does not open, insert the end of a straightened paper clip into the manual eject hole on thefront of the drive. Close all programs and shut down thecomputer. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet. Look for the small hole on the faceplate of the disc drive.

The CD drawer on a JVC EL-E3 CD Player fails to open/close. The CD fails to play when I physically close the drawer. The drawer does not close completely and needs an extra push to close it.

Sounds like the alignment is off. By physically pushing the drawer.
There is a motor on the side of the drawer that should control the drawer by pushing a piece of plastic back and forth. This piece can shift if pressed to hard. In the back of the drawer are the rods that control the top to drop. These need to be aligned with the side motor.

How to open the cd drawer when the open/close button won't

Remove the lid, you will probably have to remove the whole cd mech and turn the gear underneath with your finger

My CD drawer will not open or close

I had a mini system with the same problem, out of guarantee so was either fix it myself or bin it.
I opened the unit and removed the whole cd drawer assembly from it's housing. I then, not really recommended, plugged it back in and by pressing the open/close a few times the drawer finally opened. Put it all back together and it now works fine. I think what had happened is that I use the cd player once every couple of months and combined with the lack of use is the fact that there are several smokers in the living room and basically it got jammed by a build up of nictotine or whatever.

CD drawer will not open

Most CD's have a small hole in the front of the drawer cover. This hole can be used to open the drawer, straighten out a large paper clip (wire style). About 2" should be enough! Put he paper clip end thru the hole perpendicular to the front (straight in). You will feel resistance at about 1/2" to 1", pressing firmly (don't jam it in), the drawer will start to open as you press the right place, gently pull the drawer open. If something is jammed inside, removal and possible replacement may be required. If you don't feel confident in opening the case, don't!

CD drawer will not open or close

Hi, The CD drawer mechanism needs a new belt. They have a motor that drives the tray mechanism, and there's a small belt that drives the main gear so that pushing the drawer in gently to close it doesn't damage anything. However, once that belt breaks/wears out, the drawer will stay in whatever position it was last in.

CD drawer will not open

Try manually opening the drawer. There's a little hole on the front, Insert a pin or bent paper clip in the hole with the machine "on". Should open for you.
