Acer GridVista is a handy utility that offers four pre-defined display settings so you can view multiple windows on the same screen.
To access this function, please go to Start > All Programs and click on Acer GridVista.
You may choose any one of the four display settings indicated below:
Double (vertical), Triple (primary at left), Triple (primary at right), or Quad Acer Gridvista is dual-display compatible, allowing two displays to be partitioned independently.
Acer Gridvista is dual-display compatible, allowing two displays to be partitioned independently.

Sounds like Acer Vista is running and needs to be shut down but overhead there is an explanation of the program. Just look for Acer GridVista and make sure it is shut down and make sure you check the box on the programs settings that allow it to automatically start when windows starts. Good luck, ParrotHead PC Repair

How do I change the desktop text, icons and bars back to 100% from 500% in Windows 8.1?

Hi Cindy

You have set a customer DPI scale for your display.

Right Click on desktop
Choose "Screen Resolution"
Click on link that says "Make Text and other items larger or smaller"
Click on link that says "Set custom text size (DPI)"
Adjust the scale back to 100%
Apply the changes and all should be well.

Repair ACER Keyboard

Many a times, laptop's keys fell off the keyboard or it gets damaged. Don't fret on buying a whole new keyboard when you can repair the keys yourself.
This is an installation guide to repair keys of Acer’s laptop keyboard.

You should have a key cap and 2 or more retainer clips (plastic pieces), that goes underneath the key cap.

To install the key on your laptop keyboard, start out by observing the metal plates on the keyboard.

Always be sure to look at the metal keys because they differ in every keyboard. The larger metal hooks can be at the top, bottom, right or left side. The position of the metal hooks determines the position of plastic pieces.

Here you can see that it has one large metal hook at the bottom and two metal hooks at the top.

Take the larger plastic piece and observe that it has two holes at the top corners, two sticks at the bottom and two holes in the middle. The top holes are going to go into the top metal hooks on the keyboard. The smooth part of the plastic piece faces away from the keyboard.

Take the smaller plastic piece and observe that it has two holes at the top, two sticks at the middle and a bar with larger hole at the bottom. The sticks in the middle are going to go into the middle holes of the larger plastic piece. The bottom bar is going to click onto the bottom metal hook on the keyboard. The smooth part of the plastic piece faces away from the keyboard.

Place the smaller plastic piece onto the larger plastic piece and insert its sticks to the holes of larger piece. It’s one piece now.

Insert the top plastic sticks into the top metal holes and the bottom bar into the bottom metal hook on the keyboard. Get a thin object or a blade and stretch the plastic pieces downwards to insert completely.

Take your letter key cap, put it in the middle of the plastic pieces and push down evenly from all four sides.

Changing the screen size on an Acer computer, whether it is a laptop computer or a desktop computer, is a simple task.
You can adjust the screen size to be larger or smaller.
If your eyes hurt from concentrating on tiny letters all the time, you should make the screen smaller.
If you have to scroll left and right to read sentences in a document on your computer, you should make the screen larger, at least to the point where you do not have to scroll left and right to view the entire window.

Go to the desktop of your computer and right-click the screen.
Click the last option, which is "Properties."
The "Display Properties" window will now show up.
Click the "Settings" tab in the "Display Properties."
Adjust the meter under "Screen Resolution."
When you move the meter to the left, the screen becomes smaller.
If you move the meter to the right, the screen becomes larger.
Click "Apply" to save the settings once you are finished adjusting the screen resolution.

Not sure about using the touchpad, but increasing the size of the web page text can be done on the bottom right of the webapage. You can see a small magnifying glass icon with a number next to it, denoting the size of the text. Click on the arrow next to this to change the size of the text/images on screen.

Tote n Go laptop, mouse click not recognized

It is very likely one of the wires came loose inside the mouse itself. There are 4 black foot pads on the bottom of the mouse. With the batteries removed, pry off the four feet and remove those four screws. You will see two tiny brown wires that correspond to the mouse button.
Examine these two smaller brown wires and ensure they are not loose or have become disconnected from the small computer chip inside. The two smaller brown wires are on the interior of the chip and should be soldered to the board, opposite a larger brown wire and a larger white wire. The two larger wires, brown and white go back into the main cable that connects inside the laptop.
If these four wires appear to be intact, the next step would be to remove the two larger screws in the central blue piece with two larger holes on either side. This will release the mouse from the base. Examine the two solder points where the two brown wires are connected for any breaks. If these look good, there are two more screws that hold this chip in place. remove them and examine the button of the mouse.
Many others have found the actual push button under the mouse fails. This blog entry explains how he fixed the mouse button: fangletronics.blogspot.com

My screen of my laptop acer aspire 5670 is smaller

3 possible solutions

1. There is a monitor mode to display correctly when connected to a larger monitor, look at the top line of keys on your keyboard for a key with 2 monitors on it. You usually need to press the FN (Function key, bottom left) hold it down then press the monitor at the top

2. Your display drivers are incorrect see http://www.howtofixanything.co.uk/howto-52.html to update your video driver

3. Try starting Internet Explorer and click Tools (At the top) --> Windows Update
See if any updated Video Drivers are available
If you cannot see tools at the top in the menu bar pres the <alt> key once
