SOURCE: can't get reception. Unplugged
Getting reception for you is not something we can conjure up. Therew could be a million resons why u cant get reception including a damaged TV receiver or a damaged Disk receiver, broken coax etc etc etc.
You can buy a meter that connects in line between the dish and the Tv that will measure any signal being received for about $20. But is no guarantee that the TV is not faulty even if you see a good signal on the display.
Often better to engage a Tech on site than fall off the roof and become a para or electocute yourself playing around inside the TV.
Life is more valuable than saving a few bucks on a tech!

Hi this is Phillip Chang from DISH Network. Sorry to hear you have been having that remote issue, let's get that fixed. The problem may in fact be that your receiver is currently in Single Mode when you want it to be in Dual mode. Check that the amber "Mode" light on the front panel of your DISH receiver is lit on the right hand side (indicated by two overlapping squares), if it's not then we want to press the mode button, located behind the door on the right side facing the receiver. Most times this fixes it.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
