SOURCE: Fan Replacement

If the fan spins freely the problem is most likely not the fan but the 8 pin smd Mos-Fet fan speed control current amp has failed. Not difficult to replace and are a common problem with these projectors.

That should work. but make sure that the voltage form the wires are DC and not AC. In addition, depending on the original fan the RPM's maybe different. If you do replace with a computer fan just make sure the flow feels reasonably good.

Noisy fans on a desk-top pc Model Acer Veriton 1000. Besides replacement for new fans, can brushless fans be serviced or lubricated?

The Veriton 1000 I have has 50mm fans (length and width). 80mm are the wrong size. They are 15mm thick, 12V, 0.2A. For some reason, these seem to be more expensive than many other fans.

Thank you for using Fixya. I am glad you have performed most of the testing for me :) Anyways the problem is definitely related to the T-Con also known as LCD controller or Timing CONtrol board. Replacing the same should resolve the problem. If you can get me the part number off the board, I can find you a replacement.

Cooling fan on dell inspiron 1545 does not run

The best thing to do for a beginner is replacing the fan. Fan is not an expensive part, and disassembling main board there is the risk to damage other parts.

Test the fan on a different motherboard (or connector on same main board if available) to see if the fan is working.

Use a multimeter to check if there is voltage on motherboard fan contacts. This test is quite delicate. The motherboard can be started and work with no fan only for a limited time, or CPU will get damaged. This test is for an expert DIYer or technician.

If the fan is not working (most common situation), then replace the fan.

If the fan is working and there is no voltage in main board, then the main board is usually replaced. In some case the problem are the solder joint to fan connector, in that case a repair can be done soldering the contacts back.

My tv keeps shutting off when I hit the power button the tv only stays powered up for about 15 seconds

HI, this may be as simple as a failed cooling fan or, the power board may be experiencing some issues with vital component breakdown as well. i recommend, if possible, to check the operational value of the cooling fans that are located inside the chassis near the power sector. test the value of the fan motor to confirm proper current flow. if no voltage is supplied, this will confirm a damaged power sector(board). if the voltage is present and the motor is not rotating, this will confirm a burned out cooling fan.

Replace the failed device.

**Most common issue here will be a weak or damaged power sector.

Side by side GE refrigerator psf26pgta

The fan should be a standard 12v DC computer style fan , test that you are getting voltage to the fan connector . You should also be able to get the fan to run by connecting it to a suitable supply . Once you have eliminated the possibility of fan failure then it gets more involved.
