Hi there, i have a LG HT762TZ and its connected to an LG HDTV
via HDMI and now it won't get the signal anymore, Simplink isn't
working and the unit won't let me turn HDMI back on. It says on the
screen HDMI is turned off, i have tried everything..
Try new hdmi cable. Try different inpus on set. Try another known good signal source to determine is tv or souce device if at fault. If aother hdmi connector on set ok then replace main brd in tv, if none of the hdmi inputs work even with known good cable and known good signal sourse the replace main board in tv

have you tried connecting ur laptop via hdmi to tv? if it works you should probably check tv settings for hdmi, if not then it is possible that the hdmi controller from tv to have some problems, i had a similar problem with a philips tv and took it to service ending up in a total replacement of motherboard and led display
Hello,
Simplink was a technology developed bu LG Electronics to control multiple supported devices through HDMI connection with a use of only one synchronized remote controller to avoid confusion and hassle with other remotes. You can check the guide on the manual for supported list of gadgets and devices and instructions.
I see that you LG LCD HDTV is giving you a No Signal message on the Screen.
see steps Below on finding out what will show video on your LCD HDTV.
* First make sure that the HDMI cable is connected to your Laptop to the HDTV LG. * On your TV check your remote control and look for the input or Source Button, this will help you set your TV for the HDMI connection. * Once set, turn your Laptop on and see if the HDTV will provide Video from the Laptop to your HDTV using HDMI. * I believe that works right, now we have video still we need to set the Audio to work from you Laptop using HDMI to your HDTV. * On your Laptop lower right side look for your speaker icon, right click on the speaker icon then select Playback Devices. * Once you've selected Playback Devices you will see a window showing you a list of devices and the first one on the list will be you HDMI connection right click on it and select set as default device this will make your audio work on your HDMI to your TV. * Once audio to HDMI is set and you want to go back to your Laptop just set the speakers as the default device this will set your speakers have the Audio working again on the Laptop.
I hope that this will help you regarding your concern.
I solved the same problem by disabling SIMPLINK from OPTIONS menu. I own the LG TV myself. The LG TV comes SIMPLINK "ON" as default setting from the factory. Go to MEMU -> OPTIONS -> Turn SIMPLINK to "OFF". This should work....
You say this doesn't happen on regular cable or when playing a regular DVD. Hmm. Is this Blu-Ray player connected by simplink? HDMI is a bi-directional format cable, so there are cases in setups where your tv can send commands to your blu-ray player and vice versa. It could be a problem with your blu-ray player that it is sending for some odd reason a mute command to your tv. Or is processing a command that your TV interprets to be a mute command when playing blu-rays. Because if it was the TV itself chances are you'd see this when watching a normal DVD or on cable as well. Since you say you're not, it leads me to believe the issue lies with the blu-ray player itself.
