Frigidaire refrigerator, ice maker

I just bought a brand new frig and ice maker, the ice maker doesn't get any water through the tube in the back, so it doesn't work, this is the 2nd ice maker I got...........

Is the water flowing through the pipe to get into the frig? Sometimes the plumper with put a shut off valve under the sink to prevent or shut in case of a leak. Check that out. We hope this solves your problem.

If the ice maker is doing the normal cycle and when calls for water doesn't get any, probably the fill tube to the ice maker is clogh with ice because the dual valve (solenoid) is leaking and this water freezes up clogging the fill tube , or the solenoid doesn't work ,in both cases it has to be replaced(it's located in the back of the refrigerator attached to the water supply line).

Having trouble installing

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that you are having trouble installing the ice maker kit, part# IM501. I see that you are curious if there is an extension for the water inlet tube. There is no extension. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to better assist in installing the ice maker kit for you. Hope this is helpful.

I have a Frigidaire professional side by side fridge model# LPHS2687KFO water is leaking before entering ice maker thus the ice maker is not working, water is leaking in freezer

The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.

We have a Frigidaire Gallery side by side frig. We have had many problems, but yesterday it froze up with icicles hanging and big chunks of ice. My husband cleaned it out and thought it was OK. We woke...

First thing to check is where the ice maker actually fills up to make sure that its not full of ice and causing an over spray of water into the machine. You can actually take the tube out from the back of the machine. If there is no ice in the tube, next thing to do is make sure that the ice maker isn't over flowing and calling for to much water when its filling,. You can do this by either removing the ice maker and visually looking or by reaching in and feeling to see if the ice maker is completely full of water. If it is then either your ice maker is going back or the water valve is not closing when the ice maker is done calling for water.

Ice Maker inlet tube freezes up.

Try runnning a manual test of the defrost cycle, could be that you are not getting enough airflow to the frig side, while the frig side is calling for more cold. Becuase the frig side is calling for more cold, and not able to get there it is causing more airflow across the water tube.???

Jenn air side by side refrigerator ice maker not working

On mine the water inlet feed tube would freeze solid. Removing the ice tray and using a hair dryer to completely thaw the tube would get it working for another month or so. My frig had a solid rubber inlet tube. I noticed at the appliance store that newer models had an inlet tube that was split on top. I got one of these from a local appliance parts store, and it fixed the problem. The tube replacement it easy. Get to the back of the frig. Turn off the water supply. Carefully pry the white plastic piece out ( located on the upper right side when facing the back of the frig. ) of the frig. When you have the new one in hand it will be clear what you are going to do. Pull out the old remove the water line. Attach the line to the new tube and insert it. Turn on water, check for leaks, and you should be ok. This repair is only effective if you have an inlet tube that freezes up. There can be many other malfunctions that stop ice makers from working. This was my problem. Replaced the tube 3 years ago and ice maker has worked fine since the replacement.

GE older ice maker won't make ice

pull the cover of the front of the ice maker. there should be directions as to what way to turn the main gear (use a philips screw driver). advance the ice maker until it starts to run on its own. if water comes in at the end of the cycle then you need a new ice maker. if no water comes in check to make sure the fill tube is not frozen. if it is clear replace the water valve.

Good Luck,
Todd

Ice maker freezing up

If it is only the fill tube that is freezing up, or getting full of ice, than your water valve is leaking (letting drops of water thru to your ice maker and filling the icemaker fill tube up and freezing). If this is the case, replace the dual water valve (part # 1071263) located in the back of the refrigerator, just follow the water line from your wall into the refrigerator. Make sure you turn off the water to the refrigerator and also unplug it. The dual water valve is the one that has two water lines, one going to the icemaker and one going to the water dispenser. On this model, I think you only have one water valve. On some you have two, the primary water valve and a secondary water valve (the dual valve). If this is your case, I would highly recommend you replace both. As far as the Refrigerator side freezing things up, I think that is a whole different issue. Please post back.
