PCMService.exe is part of Dell's Cyberlink Power Cinema software, if you don't use it, remove it using programs and features in control panel.

Try looking in the Registry.

GO TO START..RUN REGEDIT go to find and type Cyberlink and delete all instances of it. That should help to correct the problem.

Hello... Buddy! I have a suggestion for you that you reinstall the cyberlink power cinema software using the same disk. When the installation starts, this will ask for repair/reinstall or romove options. choose remove option and take step forwand and if it fails to remove, re-run the setup file and choose to repair/reinstall, when it is done successfully, you may then uninstall it from add/remove programs in controls panel. or program & features option for vista/windows 7. or uninstall it from program menu.

I own the same unit (since 2001) & have had no problems. I would get it looked at & see what the issue is & what it would cost to fix. Would it be worthwhile? Well you'd have to ask yourself how much $$ you'd be willing to spend on a replacement vs repairing this unit & based on how much you'd be willing to spend, would the specs on a replacement unit measure up. You'd have to ignore things like HDMI inputs to keep it apples to apples.

I've owned various Sony components for a long time. I only had to get one unit fixed one time (a CD player that my one year old decided to do a chin-up on :( ). The unit was 7 years old at the time and my son is now 12!!. the unit still functions flawlessly since being repaired. Sony builds their stuff to last, even after beiung abused.

I have a Dell 5100C desktop computer. There was a power serge and now the on/off button just blinks.
