I bought a new Memory stick for my Sony DCR-TRV320 Camcorder and when i switch my device to memory mode, it tells me "Memory Stick Error."

Check the following:
Memory Stick is inserted in correct position and orientation in camcorder. Try re-inserting several times.
Write-protect tab is switched to allow writing to memory stick (on back of memory stick)
Memory Stick is formatted in FAT file system (this should already be done except if memory stick has been formatted in a computer in a different format)
Memory Stick is not over the maximum capacity memory stick of the camcorder.
Memory Stick is not full.
Memory Stick is clean and dry.
The dcr-trv320 is a 2000 yr. model and came with a 4mb capacity stick and can probably only use up to a 128mb capacity stick or possibly 256mb. Most memory sticks you can buy today are 1GB, 4GB, 8GB etc. memory stick pro duo. and are probably incompatible. E-Bay has some of the old memory sticks like the 128mb for sale.
There is a slight possibility that static electricity discharge zapped the stick. Try another memory stick or try the stick in another device.

I was having memory stick PRO 256MB, now it got corrupted. what shall i do? i asked in sony showroom but they stop selling memorystick PRO. they told me using adaptor also 1GB or higher memory card will...

Regarding a corrupted Memory Stick, you may be able to recover the data using the free Sony Memory Stick Data Rescue Service. This is a downloadable utility, just click on the link which I have provided for you.

Your camera is designed to take Sony Memory Stick Pro up to and including 1GB capacity. Larger capacity Memory Sticks do not work in your camera, but as you have found out for yourself the 1GB versions are no longer manufactured. Your best option is to contact camera shops directly as there are bound to be some which are still in stock. You could also try sites like eBay and Amazon, but be very careful who you buy from as there are plenty of fakes with inferior performance.

You can use Memory Stick Pro or Pro-Duo provided the latter is supplied with the adapter which is normally included to make it the same physical size as a regular Pro. You can also find Memory Stick Micro (also known as M2) in the 1GB capacity which you require, but even with adapters it might not work with your camera due to other hardware issues.

1GB cards are generally regarded as obsolete, so many folks will have them lying unused due to upgrading. Why not try asking for one on your local FreeCycle or Freegle (UK only) group? You'll have most chances of success if you ask for the smaller 256MB or 512MB Memory Sticks, and they will also ensure maximum compatibility with your DSC-P73. Although it was designed for up to 1GB, such cards did not exist at the time so it was never officially tested with them in practice.

I hope that my posting has been of some assistance to you and helps you to obtain what you require. All I ask in return is that you take a moment to rate my answer.

Good morning! you have to upgrade / replace your VGA card to a higher memory capacity, if your VGA card is only 64MB then it cannot support the game you want to play, increase it to 128MB or 256MB. best regards

Maximum Memory Stick size I can put into my Sony DSC-N1

Unfortunately, there is no way to change the internal card reader in the camera to accept higher density memory cards. You can find the memory stick compatibility list here: https://esupport.sony.com/perl/support-info.pl?&info_id=12 . Scroll down to the Cybershot N Series camera list. The maximum capacity memory stick is 4 GB memory stick pro or M2 Memory stick Pro. For the Memory Stick Duo, it looks like those have a maximum capacity of 2 GB.

I hope this helps.

Need some help with DSC-W1

memory stick pro comes in 4gb, 2gb, 1gb, 512mb, and 256mb sizes. sizes up to 1gb (i.e. 256mb, 512mb, and 1gb) are what the book is referring to.

SD Memory Cards

To achieve MPEG2 video performance, large amounts of data must be written to the SD Memory Card in real time. The read and write speed of the SD Memory Card may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, so we recommend using Panasonic SD Memory Cards with the high-speed transmission rate of 10MB per second (SD Memory Cards that are 256MB* or higher have a transmission rate of 10MB per second). FINE Mode recording (High image quality 704 x 480 pixels) recording requires an SD Memory Card that is 256MB* or higher. NORM Mode recording (Normal image quality 352 x 480 pixels) recording requires an SD Memory Card that is 32MB* or higher. *Usable capacity will be less. The use of SD Memory Cards other than the ones mentioned above may result in the following error message: [This card cannot record in MPEG2 mode.]
