Have a i1237 polaroid camera, with a usb cord, i plug it in to my computer and doesnt give me an option to upload pics.......thought that was what the cord was for? how can i upload my pics?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as iPhoto and Windows Photo Gallery.

How do i upload the pictures on this camera onto the computer? does it take a USB cord because i cant find where anything plugs into the camera besides where the charger goes? i dont have my charger on me...

Samsung say this has a USB 2 port. Maybe it is behind a door or has a rubber plug in it. It will be a mini-USB socket, not a big one like on the computer, and a lead should have come with the camera. If you are using a "charger" lead that plugs into a USB port on the computer, than that also serves as the USB connection.

People often find it simpler to remove the memory card from the camera and plug it into a cord reader on the computer to transfer files. Newer computers have card readers built in, but if yours doesn't, you can get a little SD card reader for a quid at Poundland. However, this camera uses micro-SD cards, so you will also need an adapter to get it to fit an SD reader slot. If you aren't using a card, then you will have to use the USB lead to transfer pics from the camera's built in memory.

Sony camera says Switch on [MENU] when i upload pic from USB cord

1) Try uninstalling then re-installing your Sony software.

2) When you connect to the PC and switch on, Click on Start - "My Computer". Your hard drives and disk drives should appear in the window.

Have a good look, is there a new drive, it may be called Sony, or USB mass storage device it may just be called drive E or F.

If so double click on that drive, if there's a folder there, double click on there, with luck you should see your pictures, that new drive is really your camera.

You should be able to move pictures by copy and pasting. Once copied you can deleted them from your camera.

3) You can buy a device called a "Memory card reader" Make sure its good for sony memory sticks.
You take you card from you camera and put it in the card reader. Then, once plugged into a USB port its just like another HDD as described in 2.

4) I should have said this first, try another USB port if you can, it my just be dust in the port making life hard............

Good Luck.

Uploading pics

- Connect the smaller end of the USB
cable into the USB port of your DXG.
- Connect the other end of the USB cable to your computer's USB port.
- The Digital video camera’s LCD Panel will turn on and will display
the PC Connection Menu
- Press the select button up or down button to select Mass Storage
Device option on the menu screen.

Goto my computer, you can see new 1 drive appear (or 2 if you have SD card in your DXG). So now you can copy/upload your pictures to your computer hard disk.

I would try another cable. It sounds like that might be your problem. If that doesn't fix it, you could try a card reader.
