Washer wont fill with water/clothes dont get clean

I have a new duet front loading washer and the drum wont fill with water. It sprays just enough water to wet the clothes but there is no water in the bottom of the tub to wash the clothes. When the clothes fall, they hit the bottom of the dry drum. There should be water down there! The service guy says thats the way the new washers work due to "Energy Star". Government regulations have forced the new machines to use so little water that they no longer work! My clothes arent getting clean because there is no damn water in the damn washer! That could be why your clothes are not getting clean.

Actually the machine is working like it is designed. When the correct soap is used, these machines clean clothes better than the old style. Try using a major brand of soap like Tide, Bold, or Cheer. Make sure it has the HE design on the bottle. This means that it is made just for the new High Efficiency machines. Also make sure you don't use to much. Read the directions. If this is done correctly, I'm sure you will find that it does clean great. I was like you when I first saw one of these new machines. "These is no way you can clean dirty and I mean dirty clothes without enough water to cover them. Well since, I have became a believer. They have put a lot of thought into designing these things. They had to of, for them to clean as good as they do.

yes its a leaky solenoid water inlet valve, shut off each water fill valve after using the machine and check the drum later to see if its still empty, then do the other4 valve and when you find water then thats the leaky valve, don't try to clean it,just replace the entire valve

Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer: I find water in the drum after i have washed cloth...

Check your filter if you haven't for long.

Remove the 3 screws at the bottom of the front panel under the washer door. Your filter door will be light brown. If you find a hose there it is to drain out excess water (water that could not be drained by your pump) After you hv drained unscrew the cap and remove all the junk inside. Have a large plastic bag to catch junk and water. Refit carefully after cleaning out. If not solved, something shd be blocking your pump, check this out

Whirlpool Duet 9150.. should I be able to see water in the tub when it is washing? There is no visible water level. The clothes are wet but how do they get clean?

water is drawn THROUGH the clothes. There is a BIT of water in the drum - however the water sprays on the clothes during the wash cycle and draws the dirt/water/detergent THROUGH the clothes.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Not enough water in the drum during the washing cycle

If its a High efficiency washer it doesn't use much water. Usually the front load washers are HE washers

Whirpool Duet won't spin clothes at high speed

Thinking of 2 things either the transmission is out or the clutch is burnt out and the drum basket and possibly the drive shaft broken as well. Prices vary greatly by how many of these things are broken but should run between 100-200 including labor.

Can I make the water level on my whirlpool duet washer higher?

its because of the design of the machine they are water efficient.a front load uses any where from 15 to 18 gals. compared to 40 to 50 gals.for a top load. they also have a higher spin rate than the top loader, therefore making your close dryer and having a less drying time in the dryer.energy efficient too!!
