SOURCE: Just had oil changed, dipstick reads full, but oil light flickers

the light is probably sending an OIL Pressure drop warning ---there is a rarity however
an oil filter may be improperly installed or the OIL Pressure connection on the oil pressure
sending unit --usually next to the filter --is loose or corroded or the oil pressure sending unit may
be going bad ---on a 2001 it is conceivable
otherwise you have an internal oil pressure leak --crank or cam bearings --bad o ringy thingy somewhere or the oil pump --may be experiencing problem too or the pick up screen in the oil pan
is somwhat clogged ---for a clog --try what's called SEAFOAM in the oil ---the stuff actually works
like it says on the can --about 8 bucks --drive for a week --say 500 miles worth and change the oil filter again --just the filter ---either way OIL Pressure is nothing to ignore ---you need to fix that
asap depending on the problem source!!!
I hope this helps

SOURCE: Oil Pressure light stays on. Oil reservoir is

It occurred to me that you may find it by unplugging wires on the few items under the hood which may appear they could be the oil pressure sending unit.

The light should go out when the wire is unplugged, and if it does it is bad. That's your continuity test.

If you unplug the oil pressure sending unit and the light does not go out, the cause of the oil light staying on is something other than the oil pressure sending unit.

RE pete cass posting: I believe that if the sensor is diconnnected, the oil pressure light will not light (at least because of the oil pressure sensor switch being disconnected) -- the symptom here is the light won't go off. The switch is closed with oil pressure below 10-15 PSI and open above that oil pressure -- this is a normally closed switch.

SOURCE: Dometic rv fridge runs fine on elec, lights on gas

It is key that all control switches are in the correct position, depending on what power source you are using, gas, electric, etc. If the switches are not in the proper setting, the unit will not operate.

Here's the manual for your fridge that should be printed out for your use and reference (and reading enjoyment). It has all the info needed to operate and troubleshoot it.

Typically, when using any gas appliance with a pilot light, the sensor has to first be hot enough to trigger it to allow the safety gas shutoff to open and allow the gas to flow to the pilot/burner. Follow the instructions and you should be all set.

RV connected 2 external AC-check light on dometic refer comes on when RV batteries r low. I thought refer automatically operates on AC when connected to external AC and don't understand check light.

I go with the converter solution IF you have controls set properly. I have use a 12V trickle charger (relatively inexpensive) to verify and supplement a weak inverter. Since you said your hook to AC you have power for the trickle charger.

Works good when rv plugged in to AC LP or AC but even if runnin in LP and I remove the power cord shuts down and red x is on , wont try to start up.

If it's a refrigerator problem, I would look towards the rear circuit board first. It sounds to me like you probably have an issue with your inverter. The refrigerator operates on 12V DC, not AC. So when you unplug it, it should stay on and simply start working on the LP side of things. Try hooking the refrigerator up to an independent 12V battery. It should work perfectly fine when you unplug the unit from AC at that point. You most likely have something called AC ripple caused from a bad inverter. Dometic brisk 2 AC can it be operated on a 24 volt inverter.

If your inverter puts out enough power, sure. It may drain your batteries pretty fast, though. Check the power rating of your AC and compare it to the power output of the inverter. Add a safe margin for everything else you want to run at the same time.

The generator shuts off after 30 minutes with an oil level alert but oil level if full

Your oil level sensor is bad. It needs to be replaced. If you unplug the wire leads to the sensor you may get the generator to run, but you'll have no low oil level/pressure protection. The oil level sensor is on the engine crankcase usually near the oil level dipstick. You'll likely see a small sensor with a couple of wires attached to it. To replace it, you'll need to drain your engine crankcase before removing the sensor.

Low oil lights and engine shuts down

Give the unit a good shake. Possible that the float that sits in the oil sump is stuck. It sits on the oil and sends a shut down signal if the oil level is low. A sticky float will give this false signal.

I have a powermate 5500 that shuts off after 10-15 minutes. I changed the oil, gas, spark plug and the filters. Help!!!

If the unit has a low oil shut down make sure the oil if filled to the proper full level.
If you have the proper level then you can locate the low oil shut down wire and remove the wire to test and see if the unit will run.

If the unit runs with the wire off then you either have low oil or a bad oil sending unit.
