One of my technics' 1200 turntable's tone get really high (alvin & the chipmunks sound) as I increase the pitch control... My other turntable's speed increases and keeps the pitch in tact..but the other one's tones is much from the other when they are set to a higher pitch. I tried adjusting the pitch knob inside the turntable but didnt seem to work. HELP!!!!
Before you try doing all this work to it you should just check your software. Im guessing that your using scratch live. If you are then chances are that your pitch lock might not be on, on whichever deck you have the problems with. try that first before u waist money trying to fix it.
This appears to be a slight difference with the manufacturing lots that your turntable came from Technics (Panasonic). The pitch control is to set the speed for the varying AC Frequencies (Hz) available in the world. Set the speed for the Hz your local area electricity provider uses 50HZ for 50Hz and 60Hz for 60Hz. Once the "Pitch control" is set for the local Hz don't bother playing with it unless you want the interesting sounds from the turntable. As your other turntable's speed is increasing, the pitch is increasing as well but your ears haven't noticed the different tones since they are lower in Hz. I.E. the male Bass or Alto voice is lower in tone than a female Soprano voice, and when you speed up the two differing voices the one noticeable higher is the Soprano.
You can try adjusting the pitch's gain, which is located on the pitch control circuit board. Only problem is that you'll have to take apart your turntable in order to get to that section (its on the bottom).
If that does not work, your pitch might be bad, or one of the main circuit drive IC's might be bad.

There is another gain control on the pitch control circuit board. But
the only way to access is to remove the rubber base, from the bottom of
your turntable. You'll need to do this to replace the pitch control.

If you remove the pitch control assembly - 2 screws which hold it down, and drop it out, you'll see the potentiometer for the pitch gain. Looks just like the one on the main PC board.

Thanks! Is the pitch the gain the blue dial inside the turntable? )The one where you take the platter off thenthe plastic covering to get to it?) If so I tried that already. So i guess maybe a new pitch control?
Ok, got the rubber bottom off, looking at the pitch control slider and I can't seem to find anything that looks like a pitch gain.
