Hi

I think that we can get at least one of them going again :)
I suggest

  1. take the lids off both of them.
  2. load up some Cd's and close the drawer and watch what happens.
  3. does the disc begin to spin, is not, do you hear any noise as it tries to read each disc.
  4. can you kick start the CD when it first loads(clockwise direction)
  5. if not of these things happen, can you see if the transport loads the cd up off the tray.
While you are in there, with the front drawer open you should be able to see the laser lens. Use a cotton bud moistened with windex(glass cleaner) gently clean the lens in a circular motion and then also polish it with a dry one to be sure you have left no smears on the lens. Then.... try the unit again and see if the CD reads.
If you don't have any luck this far, please post back to me and we can try some other things. All this and you give me a FixYa... YAY :)

regards
robotek

SOURCE: I have a DC Z-92 amplifier,PD-Z82M CD

first make sure you have phonograph and everything else plugged in where it belongs. or better yet unplug everything and start over. plug in just one source or just use the tuner. make sure that the speaker wires are not shorting out on the back of the amp or at the speakers. if there is a speaker switch on the front (for speaker A or Speaker B) make sure speaker A is pressed in (if you hooked up Speaker A on the back (you may not necessarily have speaker switchs.) make sure when you try the tuner that it is tuned to a good solid station. If after all of the above it still doesn't work, maybe the move caused somthing to come loose inside

It sounds that the opticla pickup unit has the fault. Clean it and check. If this do not help you, replace it.

What do you mean by the leads are "flat type" on the Marantz? Are you referring to the speaker wire output terminals? If so, the graphic equalizer should be connected to the pre-amp input of the amplifier, not the speaker level outputs.
