Optimum pressure is 1.3-1.4 bar f you have the model Livia with the gauge. It is a problem with the switch that turns on the heaters. It is called a pressure stat switch and it sometimes gets salt/calcium deposit on it that prevents it from cutting of the electricity to the heater.Dangerous as if the vent gets blocked it can explode.Change or clean the switch in vinegar to remove salt/calcium deposits.

Testimonial: "actually Pasquini has a rewire kit for older Livia 90's that is supposed to fix this issue."

SOURCE: i have a six plus year old Livia 90 Semi

This is a simple fix. This has been fixed on newer units with a rewire kit. This rewire kit is for Pasquini Livia 90’s with serial numbers PRIOR to #49000. We have them listed on our website Part# 90000 for $30.00.
You can contact me for this part - If you are local we could install it for you. If you do not fix this problem soon, you will need a new pressure release valve. It would also be advised you get a microswitch #7633905 for $13 at same time as the rewire kit. If you still require a manual we could provide you with a digital version.

My experience is working over 10 years at Pasquini as a master technician running the home repair sales and service center.

I stock all Pasquini parts for any service of your Pasquini espresso machines and grinders. Contact us for any of your Pasquini sales and service needs.

SOURCE: After several failures, I replaced

Hi
Check the wire on the water reservoir to make sure that it is properly connected.
Check to make sure the wire connection is clean and making good contact.
If the machine turns on the connection is dirty, so you will need to remove nut and clean.
There is a level probe on top of the boiler (actually 2) The right one (yellow wire) is the low level probe and it will not let the boiler turn on unless it sences water at the probe. If it is scaled it can't tell if there is water in the boiler and the element will not heat. Remove and clean the probe.

Hi
If they are blinking slowly check this. Check the wire on the water reservoir to make sure that it is connected. You can try grounding this wire and see if the machine responds.
Water level may be low in the reservoir. Are you using distilled water or reverse osmosis water. Don’t. The computer can’t tell if have water in the reservoir, because it need’s minerals to conduct the small current for the computer. If they are blinking fast you may need a new computer.

Pasquini livia 90 will power up for only few seconds and then shut down you know what iy maybe?

Try this open the steam valve when turning the machine on, if that works then the vent valve needs to be replaced, or the p.stat is damaged.

My husband removed the steam wand from our Pasquini Livia because I am running out of steam too soon and I thought the wand needed to be tightened. Now we need to know exactly how the springs go back when...

There should be a brass disk also. The spring goes in first, then the brass disk with the curved side down, then the wand, and then the nut.
Low steam pressure, could be a sign of scale build up, or the heater is getting covered with sediment. The heating element is on the bottom of the boiler on a Pasquini. Also check you pressure gauge. It should b shutting off at 1.1bar of pressure. If it is lower that could be another cause of low pressure. It can be turned up by the pressurestat.

Pasquini Livia 90: heats up for about 5 minutes, then shuts off

Sounds like the pressure switch is not working properly and the safety is turning the machine off. Try checking the tube from the boiler to the pressure switch that might be blocked, if not then the pressure switch needs to be replaced.

Descaling the livia 90

The proper and only way to descale the boiler should only be done by a trained technician. As far removing the water tank goes, you simply lift it up from the left and right hand sides - this may be difficult if you have never removed it since calcium may have built up on the seal at the bottom of the reservoir - simply wiggle it side to side to remove. To clean the reservoir, you can use a green scour pad with water. If it is heavy build up you can use a product called CLR, and let sit overnight. You can save the CLR and reuse. Rinse well to remove all clr.

Tooo much pressure

If you remove the top panel on the machine there is a pressure stat on the right side, with 2 wire connections going to it. That P.stat could be damaged and needs to be replaced, or the pipe to the P.stat is clogged and it cannot read the boiler pressure.
