Hello, Its not that hard to change a gasket..If you peel the gasket to one side underneath you should see the screws holding it in place...remove all the screws and put the new one in place...Once the new gasket is in place it's not going to seal right so here is a tip...get a heat gun or hairdryer and close the door of the freezer...warm gasket up until you see the gaps close..once you see it has a good seal you are all set. Good Luck!!! Mike

Refrigerator cool but not cold Hi. I have an LG LMX 28987ST french door dual bottom basket freezer refrigerator. Im getting 50 in fridge 32 in freezer. Compressor running ( changed start relay and...

Sounds like you have a sealed system leak. If youre getting 0 frost or only at the entering the freezer area with an ice ball, then, i hope you bought a warranty. Check user manual for potential sealed system warranties. If your fridge has a dual evaporator system, the 3 way valve could be stuck or have a restriction in it at well. Not likely though, I would recommend replacing both lowside if the fridge seems like it should be cooling with all the doors shut and good seals. I rarely would call out such an expensive repair, but Im not there physically seeing it, so use best judgement.

Replaced freezer gaskets now not sealing well

Jay, Check to see if hinge can be adjusted so door closes tighter, may be a faulty door seal, or maybe it needs manipulated to soften, shape, stretch it to seal better. You can try the dollar bill trick between the seal and fridge to locate the problem/leaking spots. The bill should not pull out with out there being a little force, no force means seal is not proper in that area. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

Why is there ice in the bottom of the crisper?

Freezer /fridge water/ice in fridge

Usually due to CONDENSATION due to bad door seals or a plugged evaporator drain line? Can use a soft flexable tubing and very hot water to clean it out. Bad door seals usually need replacement, but u can use a blow dryer and something to pry it closer to the door wall while blowing hot air on to it. To create a seal, to test for bad door seals place a dollar bill in between the door and wall of fridge where it closes. Then slide out the dollar bill with door closed. It should offer some resistance and not be easy to pull out.

Most all fridges have a drain. Look inside your fridge for a "V" shaped channel with a small hole. This hole leads to a tube and a small pan which sits on top of your refrigerator's compressor. The defrost cycle causes water to run into the channel, down the tube, and then it generally evaporates with the heat of the hot condenser/compressor.
However, if that tube is clogged with food crumbs, particles , debris etc, you will have to clear it to get back to a normal mode of operation. A toothpick, pipecleaner, straw or a cotton bud can often do the trick.
Even a frost free freezer will still ice up at times in the areas away from the heated defrost area and the drain line can freeze. This icing causes the pipe work to the compressor to ice over or sweat and cause a puddle. Or if the drainage has frozen over, it will need to be de-iced. ( usually the line is under the freezer bottom plate covering. Towards the back of the unit) And there is another inside the fridge area also.
Give the freezer a good overnight defrost until it's totally clear of ice in addition to making sure the drain is clear to the pan at the back and then

My sub zero has condensation forming inside the refrigerator

Hi - Did you take the vegetable drawers out to see if there is ice in back? If so, you might have a problem with the refrigerator seal. Defrost the ice and then check the seal of the fridge! If you don't have ice behind the drawers, still check to see if the seal is good. When you close the fridge door, it should be very hard to open if you try to re-open it quickly.

Electrolux Built in freezer door not closing.

I'm suspecting the door also because of the lack of suction power. you have to check the gasket more. Frost around the door is a great indication of where warm moist air is coming into it.

The freezer compartment on my fridge keeps icing up over a couple of months. How can i prevent this please.

if the freezer has air and the rear freezer wall has frost on it, the evaporator coils are iced up and need defrosting. causes:
1. low refrigerant
2. no fan
3. too much humid air in fridge/freezer due to door open or bad door seals
4. the condensate drain tube is clogged

if the seal around the door is ripped or not completely sealing, or there is condensation at the bottom or the walls of the fridge, replace the seal(s).

no air, no fan. Replace

if the refrigerant is low, it just needs a top off. but you need to be certified by the epa to move refrigerant, so get a professional.

defrost solutions:
unplug the fridge. remove the wall of the freezer that is frosted/icing up. use a hair dryer to melt the ice. do not get too close. you will see a drain under the evaporator coil. make sure it is not blocked. the water should run freely to a condensate pan under the fridge that evaporates the condensation with the hot line from the compressor. once the coil is free of ice, frost, and water, replace the panel and repair any of the problems that caused the icing up. plug the fridge in and turn it on. If it frosts up within a week, there is still an issue that not been taken care of.

Fridge Condensation

Check the seal of the rubber gasket, if there are improper seal of the magnet, pour hot water along it to soften the rubber. (be careful when handling hot water). When the rubber is soften, try to stretch it a little by pulling it. close the door and the magnet will keep the seal in place.

Firdge won't get cold

Lou, the reason for the leak was probably a bad door gasket allowing condensation out. Now, the leak is so bad that the freezer coils are full of ice. Clean or replace the gasket. Test the seal by running a 2 inch wide piece of typing paper through the gasket area in a couple of places. Resistance must be felt.

Either remove the back panel in the freezer to defrost the ice or wait a full two days for defrosting to take place. While you're at it, clean the condenser coils. Want to see if you have enough refrigerant? Shut unit for at least 15 minutes. Locate the largest tube coming out of the compressor. It must be clean. Start the unit. If will frost and either dry off or become icy after at least 5 minutes. If it stays frosted, you probably need gas.
