Kenmore model numbers look like this example=> 321.1234578 Are you sure that the water in the ice maker is melting and flowing down into the ice bin? What may be happening is the water control valve for the ice maker may be allowing water to continue flowing into the ice maker tray even when off due to the water control valve being defective. If your refrigerator also has a water dispenser and the water is not continuing to leak is because the water control valve has to sides. One side is for the ice maker and the other side is for the water dispenser. I am here if you have questions, ThanksSea Breeze
This problem is most likely the water control valve on rear of refrigerator. If your ice maker is empty pour tap water inside it and let it freeze. If it dumps the ice then the water control valve. If nothing happens the the thermostat inside the ice maker is defective. Thanks, Sea Breeze
Is the smell from inside the refrigerator or on the outside? If outside, it is possible a humid smell from the condensate drainpan water evaporating. You could put a very small amount (a couple of granules) of pool chlorine in the drainpan.
pull out the fridge and remove the back panel, and clean that area. Make sure no food is stuck under the fridge also. A rotten piece of fruit or other food, once under there, will smell until it totally decomposes. We have seen this before. Hope this helps!
YOU SAID, YOU HAVE KENMORE ELITE BOTTOM FREEZER WITH ICE MAKER THE ICE CUBES SMELL
HORRIBLE ALWAYS, I EVEN TOSS THEM OUT EVERY FEW DAYS, STILL SAME PROBLEM
Ice has bad odor and taste. 1• Ice has picked up odor or flavor from strong food stored in refrigerator or freezer. 2• Water running to ice maker has poor taste or odor. 3• Ice not used frequently enough. 4• Cover foods tightly. Discard stale ice. Ice maker will produce fresh supply. 5• Add filter to water supply line. Consult a water purifying company. 7• Discard stale ice.
