SOURCE: 31-735 delta belt/disc sander - dust collection nightmare

The belt cover that does down the front of the belt, below the table, should have an opening inside the baes/vacuum unit. Make sure this isn't clogged with buildup.

SOURCE: dust bag won't collect

Try blowing through the little **** that collects sawdust (inside back by belt) with a compressed air nozzle, with the bag off, and squeeze the trigger and let the motor run a little. Blow out the insides as well as you can, including the air intakes for the cooling of the motor, and it should work fine again.
You can also blow out the bag to clean the pore in the fabric.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread. If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take a moment to kindly rate this post....thanks!

SOURCE: Makita Belt Sander 9404

the tool needs cleaned thoroughly. there might be a section of a belt that has jammed the passageway. UNPLUG the tool and turn over to see on the backside if the clog is there, if not I would recommend using safety glasses and compressed air to blow thru the channels to dislodge the material. I havae also used a shop vac to help in this.

Ryobi BE318-2 dust bag don't work

The pathway that the dust follows to reach the bag is most likely clogged. Take the bag off and look inside to see if there's sawdust plugging the orifice. If there is then you could vacuum out the dust or simply start up the sander and let the machine clear itself. If you do the latter just know that you will create a cloud of dust so do it in the proper environment.

We bought a used dewalt heavy duty DW430 sander, it does not collect any dust at all, just spews it out all over the place, what could be wrong with it?

I have a sander similar to this one. \Have the same problem from time to time. Usual problems are
1- the feed hole that leads to the collection bag gets plugged up.
2- you do have thew collection bag don't you?
3- the collection bag gets plugged up so no air will go through it. Wash the bag out then let it air dry.
4- it might have the connection on it for a vacuum

Belt sander does not collect dust anymore. I blew it out very well with my air nozzel and it did not help.

It could have a piece of sanding belt in the passageway. What I have done is get a shop vac and VERY carefully run the tool with no belt and put the hose end over the exhaust port, This sometimes works short of disassembly. You might also want to gently tap the side cover to loosen up the dust.

Air and dust no longer blow into dust collection bag. I suspect that there is a clog somewhere.

are you putting holes in the papper with the guide? there has to be holes in the paper for the dust collection to work

Bosch 3 x 21 Belt Sander

Remove the dust bag and unplug sander for now. Everywhere you see an access hole (fan area, dust port, back of sander blow thru the tool to remove lodged dust that clogged the system, Also look for broken belt pieces in the back of sander. Then while running (remove belt) blow again thru all the ports to try and reomve as much contamination as possible. When finished you can feel to see if air coming from dust bag port, it not you still have a clog that might need more work. If I have clarified your request would you please rate this response accordingly and thank you.

Porter Cable belt sander

try to rig the nozzle of a shop vac to the part where the bag would normally connect and run the sander simultaneously with vac for a few minutes and see if that helps

Dust collector

dust collectors usually work off the motor via a fan. Either the fan is broken or the bag is blocked up.If the bag is too dirty inside you don't get any airflow through the bag which can stop it collecting. A good wash should do the trick
