SOURCE: Honda 5.5 hp air comp. no spark wont run

Most honda engines have an oil sensor that prevents the engine from starting if the oil level is low or oil is dirty. Test coil by disconnecting oil sensor wire. With sensor disconnected coil should fire. If still no fire, check kill wire for short. If still no spark, coil may need to be replaced. enjoy

SOURCE: timing a 13 hp GX 390 Honda engine

I believe it is either one but if you are not sure, stick a screw driver in an see if it comes out with oil on it. Does one not have an oil level stick attached to the cap?

Honda GX 160 starts, but won't stay running. Operates a semi-trash pump that went unused for months at least judging from the old gas found in the tank. Replaced spark plug and put new carburetor on.

Was the old fuel flushed from the tank? Does it have a fuel filter that is possibly clogged? Is it possible some trash from the old fuel/ tank has gotten into the new carburetor and the float is stuck?

I have a Honda GX 160 and I an getting gas in the oil

hi under the carb is a drain bowl .shut the fuel off then take the bowl off 10 mm bolt .then you will see a plastic float hold the float up and turn the fuel on if fuel is cuming out the needle might have dirt on it. turn fuel off now pull the pin out that holds float in place the needle will come down with float spray needle and where needle is seated with carb cleaner now re fit needle and float and hold float up and turn fuel on if no fuel comes out problem sorted. drain oil and fill with new oil.if still leaking fuel you need a new needle

Where to connect the throttle cable on a GX 31 honda motor FG 100 tiller

I look up honda engines at : honda-engines-eu.com they have the best access to detailed information. If you can identify the carb butterfly, any cable should attach to the butterfly control. I see a Honda GX100, but not a GX31.

I have a Honda GX 240 engine mounted on a walk behind mower. The bearings in the shaft that connects the drive belt to the blade seized. I replaced the bearings in the shaft and the blade turns freely but...

Remove the spark plug and make sure that oil did not enter into the cylinder. Oil in the cylinder will feel like engine is siezed. With plug remove and engine will not turn suspect more serious problems. If the rod is siezed due to low oil, it can be replace by removing the sump. No big deal and could be nice project. Before you take anything apart, check that the cable to the safety stop is actually releasing. This could also make you think that the engine is siezed.
